We've an EVGA GTX 780 purchased in January 2015, last night in the middle of a game the PC shuts down and the room fills with electrical smoke. Turns out it's the video card. While playing OW we've generally got the stats up in the top right, GPU temp, FPS, ping etc, and the GPU would never normally go past the 70s.

Checked it out, while I can't see any physical damage boy does it smell like an electrical fire. I know EVGA do a 3 year warranty, but I'm concerned we'll be knocked back due to the dust in the unit. Unfortunately our place just seems to breed dust and no amount of air seems to get it all.

Included some pics of the case (with spare 660) to show it's had plenty of air. Any thoughts? Cheers.

I'll assume you are in the UK or Europe. Go ahead and submit the form for an RMA.

Did you purchase brand new, or used? Use the guest rma to determine your warranty for the most accurate amount of days remaining.

New from MSY Australia, January 2015. I have the invoice too, so I've registered it and uploaded the invoice and all and opened a support ticket.

So I’ve been approved to send the card back to EVGA for an RMA, issue now is that they want me to ship it from Australia to Taiwan and only via FedEx, TNT, or EMS.

Now EMS appears to be Japan’s mail service? So that’s out. And while Fedex and TNT have quoted me similarly close to $100 which is a bit ridiculous for a warranty claim, neither of them will deal with me as I’m not a business holder.

I purchased the card at MSY Kingsford, and they refuse to answer the phone, ever. So I went down in person to see if they could help and as it’s outside the Australian 2 year consumer guarantee he won’t have anything to do with me.

I’m a little stumped on how to move forward now, any thoughts? Cheers.

Man those are some crazy shipping prices! Here in the states I complain about $15 shipping prices, so no more complaining for me. Hec you're almost better off buying a new GPU at those kind of shipping costs. Hope you can find an alternative & get your GPU back up & going!
edit: p.s. I doubt dust will be an issue, however it never hurts to hit with compressed air & to wipe down blades with a q-tip or something
