Hey, I've been using a Z170 Classified K for several months now and I've gotten very slow boot times out of it with two separate SSDs. I've looked up a bunch of different solutions on how to get it fixed, but it doesn't seem to do anything. During POST it hangs on code b4 for around 30 seconds (sometimes longer), which the manual says is memory training. The only other code it stays on for more than a second or two is 9C, which the manual says is USB Detect. B4 seems more likely to be the problem, as I've had some problems with Windows 10 telling me that I'm running low on memory when it's not even close. My system info is as follows:

OS: Dual Boot Windows 10 Home / Ubuntu
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB-3000MHZ (x4)
GPU: GTX 980 Ti VR Edition

Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry you have B4 issue.  I had that for a long time, then found a fix... which I do not remember.  I do have 5 or 6 second pause on A2 now...it was A0 as both seem to point to starting memory.. I have not understood why or what the BIOS is check on the Mem Sticks...   If I find the  fix in my notes I will PM you.

Does the slow boot occur under the following conditions...

#1 On the latest bios available.
    #2 Bios optimized defaults.
    #3 Xmp enabled.
#4 Ram timings, voltage & frequency setup manually.

If yes, I'd recommend trying a different set of ram. I'd go with these... https://www.newegg.com/Pr...x?Item=N82E16820231899

Damn, I was hoping to avoid having to spend more. If I could afford to switch to a new set of RAM right now I would go for that, but it's unfortunately not in the budget for me right now even if I were to sell my current set off. Hopefully KenMcC finds the solution he used to this, otherwise I may just be stuck with slow boots for a while.

Looks like kenmcc's solution was to use bios 1.04... https://forums.evga.com/w...tcode-B4-m2694650.aspx

Okay, so I have an update. I apparently wasn't on the latest bios version, so I updated and now the hang on B4 has reduced from around 30 seconds to 10 seconds. It still takes a while to start though, because it's hanging longer on 9C and 92. Other than that, the only problem is that it's going directly to Windows 10 rather than the Ubuntu grub menu, which is probably just something I'm overlooking.
