Is it really necessary that a 4K game patch be 42GB large?

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

That doesn't sound *too* crazy, IIRC Fallout 4's official hi res textures clocked in north of 50GB.

I'm surprised they didn't paywall the patches yet. They do with everything else in the game.

    What are the paywalls?

Means content is blocked from use unless you pay for it or grind for it like a second job. Ubisoft is turning all it's major games into paid DLC platforms and it's pretty atrocious. This game being one of the worst offenders in gaming with $290 worth of paid DLC and that doesn't even unlock all of the available content in the game. For Honor is another atrocious one where it's going to cost $730 to unlock all of the game's content or 2.5 years playing every single day for 2 hours........

I know what a paywall is. What I'm wondering is, what are the specific items behind the paywall?
