Yup, but the power consumption looks terrible.

I saw no mention of power consumption in this article. Or were you referencing earlier TDP leaks?

I was thinking about those rumors and the picture in this article, with what looks like probably 2, maybe 3 power connectors plugged to the card.

RX Vega will likely be ~300W, just like the Vega FE. Which makes it a dud. A year late, and slightly slower. Much higher power draw. Only price could save it, something like $250-$300.

Really looks like more then one power connector on the side and as said above possibly three. Almost can see them in the photo. If it is power hungry then the price would have to make up for it.

That has been a major downfall for AMD GPU and CPUs for years, even when performance is descent, they are killed by power and/or heat.

Im assuming the additional wires are for a USB connector? (red black blue yellow or something like that to have software monitor or have a tach somewhere else in the case like the front or heaven forbid Audio)

imagine they are still collecting data from engineering samples ..maybe it makes sense to have a connector to collect data with maybe for external USB connector

The Radeon RX Vega costs as much as the GTX 1080 Ti

NordicHardware has obtained preliminary pricing information from Swedish distributors where the Radeon RX Vega price tag lands around 7,000 SEK excluding VAT.

LOL dang pay 2x as much as a 1080 and use up 2x the power for less performance??????

Come one now, I'm sure this will sell for $400 tops and have performance better than the 1080 TI on a passive cooler. It's Vega! What could go wrong?

well if the card runs the same as a GTX1080 ($500-600) it better be around $380-400 for the 8GB version.

The problem is that it will be difficult to sell Vega cheap when it uses expensive HBM memory.
