Good evening everybody, I am currently in the process of adding more GPUs to my mining rigs and have run into a little difficulty. When I plug in (using powered usb risers) more than 4 GPUs the system freaks out and gives me 3 beeps pause 3 beeps. When I plug in 4 GPUs the BIOS recognizes them, even though Precision only sees 3. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? System Specs Z170 Classified 4-Way 32 GB Ram 256 SSD 2TB HDD 6x GTX 1070s EVGA 1300W G2 Thanks all

Welcome to the Forum boomersooner550You left out the CPU you have installed? You are or have 6 Each GTX 1070 Graphics Cards installed? This Motherboard only supports up to 4-Way SLI or 4 Graphics Cards and is based on the CPU you have installed.

Whoops you are correct my apologies. It's an i7-6700k and yeah what is weird is that the board has 6 PCI-E 1x slots, which is where the risers come into play. I am using 16x to 1x risers in order to fit 6 GPUs and fill all of the PCI-E lanes.

The i7-6700k CPU has 16 PCIe Lanes + 4 Lanes from PCH + 8 lanes from PLX Total 28 Are you using a M.2 Device? Did you Plug in the 6-pin PCIE Power Connector on the Lower Left side of the Motherboard? See Note Below. PCI-E Lane Distribution PE1 – x16 (x8 if PE2 is used), 16/8 lanes from CPU PE2 – x16 (x8 if PE3 is used), 16/8 lanes from PLX PE3 – x8, 8 lanes from PLX PE4 – x16 (x8 if PE6 is used), 16/8 lanes from PLX PE5 – x4, 4 lanes from PCH PE6 – x8, 8 lanes from PLX PE5 would be in question 5x PCI-E 3.0 3x16/8, 2x8 slots 1x PCI-E 3.0 1x4 (4 Lanes from PCH) slot 2x M.2 -1x Key M speeds up to 32Gbps (PCIE 3.0 x4 or SATA 3.0), shared with 2x native SATA -1x Key E (PCIE) NOTE: The 6pin PCIE connector present on the motherboard is there to provide additional power to the PCIE slots rather than pulling it all from the 24 pin main power. It is advised when using SLI especially with higher power draw cards, 3 and 4 way SLI it is strongly recommended to use this, regardless of GPU. Yes I have both supplemental power plugs in, no M.2 storage. All cards would be plugged in through a riser so that they are only 1x.

Their is only ONE 6-Pin Power Connector on the MB, the one at the Bottom Left of the MB. Their are Two 8-Pin at the TOP of the MB for the CPU. The one you NEED to connect is at the Bottom Right in the Below Image in the Yellow Circle. It is a standard 6-Pin Graphics Card Power Cable.

For 3 or More Graphics Cards it is a MUST. It Takes the Load off of the 24-Pin Motherboard Power Connector.

I handle 4 GPUs just fine but once I get to 5 it doesn't boot, throws code 62 (which I believe is South Bridge), and gives me 3 short beeps pause 3 short beeps.

Do not use PCIe#5 skip it and use PCIe#6 and test only 5 Cards KEEP the 6-Pin Connector Plug In! PE1 – x16 (x8 if PE2 is used), 16/8 lanes from CPU PE2 – x16 (x8 if PE3 is used), 16/8 lanes from PLX PE3 – x8, 8 lanes from PLX PE4 – x16 (x8 if PE6 is used), 16/8 lanes from PLX PE5 – x4, 4 lanes from PCH (DO NOT USE THIS SLOT) PE6 – x8, 8 lanes from PLX

Well it does boot now but in BIOS it only is seeing 4 GPUs

OK what is the OS Showing? Also in the Bios did you set the PCIe Lanes to Auto or x8, do not set them to x16

My god man, six 1060s is awesome. Theres something about that. something that a 1080 Ti or dare I say two 1080 Ti's doesn't have. Balls. Anyway, how do they all work for you? Was it worth the money?
