We're sort of flying blind here. Can we get a *rough* (i.e. non-committal) answer on when we might expect the new motherboards to come out?

The mATX motherboard is the last part in my build, so I've just been waiting to hear more for about a month. But EVGA has been frustratingly opaque, and the auto-notify feature is useless if we don't even have a relative idea on when to expect the boards.

I agree Jacob and the twitter feed seem to be the best way to keep up with the latest. Of course the forums normally gets a post after a tweet goes live.

    It's not only EVGA Motherboards...
There is 5 X299 motherboards on market just to Intel start to sell i7-7800X, i7-7820X, i9-7900X.
Skylake-X is not officialy launch completely and 90% of motherboards are not available before August or September.

Or maybe you simply didn't know the whole story. You should be aware Intel launched the x299 platform several months ahead of schedule, hence why stock was/still is limited and most vendors had barely any boards in supply. Nobody seems to have their entire lineup in supply yet, not even ASUS.

maybe it is you who doesn't know the whole story. As for asus they are shipping by plane mobos for reviews as i write this email.
Mobos will be available to purchase between 10-15 august. 100% confirmed information.

All vendors got all the necessary tech from intel at the same time. I understand that EVGA is a small company and things just take much more time when your RnD is 10% size of your competitors.

What i dont understand is how much you can ignore your customers and keep them in the dark.

And believe me, i am a evga fanboy, paid 40% more for the same PSU that superflower sells just because it has these 4 magic letters printed on a sticker...
More than that, i am a person that launched sales of evga product in my county back when this brand was as recognizable in here as powercolor with its +15% extra price even over asus premium prices

please dont tell me that i dont know the whole story

Vince "K|ngp|n" has been testing the x299 Micro, and just said that he wants to add something to the dark, so the dark will take longer to be released, that is all that has been made available, and that was just recently posted.

Looks like the Micro will be out in a few weeks. Velocity Micro has the Raptor Z95 configure which has the EVGA X299 Micro  as shipping on 8/15.

Bah, I always hate waiting for new hardware then the fight to get something when supplies are limited. I just built my new rig last year, stepped up to 1080Ti cards and put them on water. Don't think I will be in a hurry to get into x299 hardware at the price point Intel is charging for the high end chips but AMD x399 and Threadripper might be tempting after I see some benchmarks and real world performance data.

I have no idea. I will not use SLI. It's how they present it in the specifications, that's why I wrote 4 GPU SLI.

Evga X299 Dark will come when intel bring out the 18 core, wich it made for.
Rest will come a little time before.

The reason why is not came out, is VRM mostly, but just be glad they are not doing the same mistake as Asus and all the other are doing.
im wating myself, for the Dark, but will buy the 16 core model, so need to wait anyway.

From what I'm reading, ASUS is aiming to release the Rampage VI Apex and Extreme in Week 33 (that's the one that starts august 14th).
That seems to be the same week Intel will release the i9-7920X and probably the date when all the socket 2066 processors were going to be released before Intel decided to rush the i-7s and i9-7900X.

EVGA values its customers (not like some other company that we all know) and probably decided to do things right, take the necessary time to test everything and do a good X299 launch.
So, if there are not extra problems that couldn't be solved in time (like changes on the VRM heatsinks, etc), I think EVGA will want to launch on that same week 33 (following the original plan).

Note: these are just my thoughts. I have no inside information.

I see that customers continue to blame manufacturer because they didn't finish motherboards 3 months earlier.

I've waited 6+ years to upgrade my x58 Classified.  A few more weeks won't kill me.

I'm hoping to do the x299 Dark because of my preference of Intel NIC's, with a Core i7-7820X so I can balance VM's and Gaming, with a 1080TI Hybrid.

Hopefully that will do some justice to my old x58 SLI'ed Rig.

You will be happy with them.
That's right choice and performance improvement will be amazing.
You only need dedicate sound card and everything is perfect.
I recommend Sound Blaster ZxR or Sound Blaster X AE5 is cheaper, 149$.
You are completely right, now only you should wait to motherboard show up in stores.
No matter on economic situation I swear I would not build X299 before scheduled date.

I love SoundBlaster Cards but ever since I started running a standalone Schitt Modi DAC and Schitt Magni Amp with my Fidelio X2's I haven't had a real need for a Sound Card these days.

The above paired with my Blue Yeti has been an amazing setup.

    Than OK.
But anyway is good because X299 Dark have small slot if someone want dedicate sound card.
It's not rear that manufacturer of high end motherboards forgot him completely. Usually ASRock.

It would be nice to Nateman launch Monoblock for X299 Dark.
I think he could build block for CPU and VRM from one peace.
You can't imagine how she could look with shield and Monoblock.

I must say that 4 DIMM slot are maybe better for overclocking of RAM but it's good for people who can't afford kit with 8.
Example 8x8 or 8x16GB. Better look all slots full than 4 of them empty.
Because of that for me that's not flaw at all.
Small number of people need 128GB over 64GB and in same time want this type of motherboards.
Gamers mostly 4x4 or 4x8GB or rearly 4x16GB.

My plan was to get 4 8GB Sticks or even 4 16GB Sticks for the Dark.
As far as afford if you cannot spend the Money on the Ram then you maybe should not get the Motherboard.
