Hey gang,
So I installed my new EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Elite yesterday evening.
After first installing, I noticed the idle temps were somewhat high, like around 52c.
I then installed Precision XOC 6.1.11, and once it was running it apparently utilized the default fan curve and those temps came down to mid 30's.

This morning I booted the PC up, and I have not launched Precision XOC yet. My idle temps though remain the same now, mid 30's.
So I guess my question is, are the settings in Precision XOC retained even though the program is not running? Coming from Afterburner I was used to the fan curve not kicking in until I had launched Afterburner.
And if they are retained, does that mean any settings I set in Precision XOC, including any overclock retained even if the program is not running?

Thanks for any tips for this Precision XOC newbie here...

Don

Well maybe I have answered my own question.
Just launched Precision XOC for the first time this morning, and my temps are now coming down lower even.
So I guess the fan curve in fact does not apply until after Precision XOC is launched again.

As far as I know, the fan curve at PXOC will only be activate when you load the profile/open PXOC.
When you first started PXOC, it did give you a firmware update? If so, that might have fixed the idle temps.

Yes I did get a firmware update, apparently that is what fixed the idle temps indeed.

Thanks,

I've only noticed that the 1080Ti FTW3 I use on the previous versions atleast sticked to the 'static' fan speed even if I closed XOC and rebooted my PC.
Fan curves however reverted to bios fan curves.

Hello,
Would my 1050 SSC benefit from the use of Precision XOC?
Am I allowed to download and install it?
Is an activation code required?
Thank you
Mike

You can use the program with that card. You would be allowed to download and install Precision. There is no activation or fees associated with Precision XOC.
You would be able to use the program to control fan behavior and monitor card temperature for that card. The main use for it would to try your hand at overclocking to get a little more out of the 1050 SSC.

Could anyone help me understand why my gpu clock goes beyond the boost clock before I've done anything at all to the settings?

It's supposed to be 1607MHz with 1797 Boost, I keep clicking default thinking it might run @ stock but it doesn't. Kinda confused how it's getting this boost with no offset set?
