Hi everyone
I am french so sorry for my english.
I owned a Z77 STINGER motherboard since it went out on market.
But the fan control doesn't really work, only the cpu fan works.
The other pin's fan pwm on the motherboard don't really work with the mode auto.
I can plug a pwm fan but when i select auto mode the fan works at 100% all the time in any circonstancy.
I try different trade fans= no change.
Have you an idea how to solve my problem?

Thanks you for your answers.
Best regards

even though the other headers may be 4 pin they are not pwm, DC only. its been a short coming of evga for some time, even on a new z270 only three of the seven are pwm control. you may need a standalone controller like the corsair commander pro or mini

You can use a pwm fan on a 3 pin header, they will work but wont have any pwm control. Same as you can use a 3 pin fan on a 4 pin header. The power wires are the same on each, as is rpm wire, its the 4th pin or wire that is the pwm wire. Speed control is different between the two types. DC fans (3 pin ) have a voltage range, depending on that voltage determines the fans speed, but they can stall if you go to low and can have limited rpm range. Where as pwm fans receive full voltage all the time and the pwm part pulses the voltage in the fan its self to control speed, thus they usually will have a larger rpm range.

    Ello everyone,

I try today to plug 3 pins fans on my motherboard.
I selected auto mode in bios, save and reboot ...... and nothing change.
Only the CPU Fan is really PWM control by the mother; the other fans header don't work in mode auto. The fans work but are not controled.
I must select manual mode to reduce speed fans.

Is there an option in my bios that i would forget to select?

It is really a mess the fans managment on the motherboard. I must change my computer very soon, i think i will go to ASUS because there fans control seems really better.

    Thank for your answers

its always been a short coming of evga boards, looks like the x299 boards are finally going to get better control via eleet but the older boards do not. you can try speedfan, i have a guied in the hardware section on how to set it up.
