Have ordered my Z270 ftw k mainboard and i7 7700k cpu and i was wondering if i would get better cooling from Corsair CW-9060025-WW Hydro Series H100i V2 240 mm Extreme Performance All-In-One Liquid CPU Cooler - Black this OR Noctua NH-D15 would the Noctua NH-D15 air cooler result in better cooling. i know W/C is the thang and mostly preferred by alot of users but with such a small closed loop would the AIO be better than the air cooler. Thanks for any advice.

AIO cooling is better and the Corsair AIO is a good selection.

I agree that AIO cooling is very good I personally wouldn't go back to air cooling.

Sorry for the useless comment... but it is a neat and fun thing to have, as long as you don't mind an air compressor next to your head.

I would go with the all in one Corsair. You will have lower temps with the liquid.

I recently went to the h100i GTX from a large Zalman air unit and lowered temps 10c on average. I'm always using 80 to 100% cpu's crunching. The temps below were not possible in the summer the the Zalman

go with the AIO, cooler temps and less noise.

Noooo, I say Evap water tower!! All kidding aside, @OP, def AIO is great and when I did one on my gcard I was thoroughly impressed by the temp drops on the gpu and the cpu by-proxy. My air cooler setup did a great job too, but the AIO was especially well suited for a gpu giving much lower temps.

Why stop at one compressor when you can make it 3 with a cascade

How about something more practical, and make a chiller, a window AC unit, some pond p[umps, a igloo filled with antifreeze, good stuff, Hallowen can instruct you on those, and maybe with a sub zero rated aircooled waterblock from Nateman, and you are golden. Or go AIO, those really are good choices these days.

Really to explain why you should go AIO is air means the hot heat from the CPU is pushed out into the computer case effecting the heat for everything inside of the case until it's pushed outside. With the AIO the heat is transferred to the radiator and then blown out of the case and does not effect other things in the computer case. With good modern cooling air is pushed out pretty quickly but still better to have the most direct way out of the case if you ask me.
