I really wanna give evga my money, almost everything else that can be is evga in my rig. But this total lack of communication is going to cause me to go with someone else. I've already seen many others say the same thing and are going with another manufacturer....I just don't want to...

same here

1080ti icx + T1000 - it was realy hard to get now days but this...

just bought x299 from MSI and I will use it untill evga or rampege comes out.

Vulgar language is against the forum rules, and as such, this post has been edited.

Odd the ad was pulled EVGA X299 Series Motherboards use the < two times then Back > you will see something NEW as well as the X299 Ad being pulled.
Wonder what is going on, A Release

don't see anything new atm. seems the CPUs are out now at least, and some of the other brands of x299 motherboards.
when will we see what EVGA has to offer? No telling, but they have been releasing motherboards behind other companies that release theirs on the CPU release dates.
Maybe EVGA is getting out of the motherboard market, and the ad removal was their way of saying "surprise!" :P

This is what I see
https://www.evga.com/articles/01117/evga-dg-7-mid-tower-cases/
https://www.evga.com/articles/01116/evga-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-kingpin-coming-soon/
And Only the 2 above.
"CPUs are out now at least," Mine is not and will not be out until the Fall.

As far as "EVGA is getting out of the motherboard market" it would only be because of the "I Want It Now" Syndrome has become an Epidemic on EVGA's Forum.

I don't know where intel's huge R & D budget goes but It certainly didn't go into any of this.

cheapest MSI and it is working as intended:

Now I can wait for our favorite company to do their job and make me pay only for different looks of PCB...

Just so you know, I will buy EVGA if it realeases before Rampage VI does

Thanks, Package show nothing I was wondering if the CPU is OEM or Retail or A Engineering (Engineering Sample ES) CPU.
To bad that is not a Fire Strike Score. I find Time Spy a waste.
Need more time for http://www.3dmark.com to add the New CPUs.

What were you using to cool the cpu?

7.2 ghz is impressive. It is strange how the core #'s in the clock tab are all weird, and then again in the utilization tab. CPUID probably needs an update, as well as 3d mark

If you could the actual cores and ignore the core numbers, there is only 10 cores 20 threads. They are mislabeled. According to the monitor, there is no core 5, 6, or 7. And there is no thread 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, or 15.

Hopefully they patch it soon, because it is definitely not reading properly.... I guess we can say.. It isn't gathering Intel properly?

asus called back  their apex and extreme to change heat-sinks, it wont be available for sale for about 2 more months

if evga pushes out their boards they wll take alot of market share as all other boards  overheat as hell...

EVGA, please start preorder and you can ship out after you are ready al long as it is sooner than asus :)

BTW, thats what you get for making boards beautiful instead of functional...

Hi Iamrougue,

Did you actually talk with ASUS (who?) and is that time frame firm on the APEX and Extreme?

I can't believe people are buying into x299. We are getting LESS for more this time around. This launch is a downgrade. And why would Intel put 2 CPU iterations on one chipset? A i5 on the HEDT?! Seriously?

A i5 CPU on an enthusiast board.

And don't forget to buy your official Intel RAID dongle! Hahahaha.

Simple, as a place holder until the bigger CPU's are available. That would be the only purpose for the i5.. spend $250 to be able to function until the biggest CPU you prefer is available. Since most manufacturers will support up to the 7980x (I think it is), then the users that want a simple place holder can get started without spending $500 for a cpu to hold them over... there really can't be any other explanation.

7740x is a place holder? No. It doesn't make sense. If someone is going to buy a 7740x, then they should get a z270. I totally agree with GamerNexus!

Agree with GN all you want, but you can't stick an 18 core gpu in a z270.. can you? Nope, but you can stick a 7740x in a x299 board until the 18 core is available. Do I think it was smart of Intel to do that? Absolutely not.. but that is what people will likely use the 7740x for. That would make it a place holder.

If someone think about Intel processors up to 300$ should wait Coffee Lake.
I expect from him to be like i7-7700K + 2 more cores with low power consumption up to 100W.
If Intel think that i7 now need 6 cores than probably is better waiting him.

From other side I'm always for option to add 200$ more for i7-7820X.
But I seriusly think now when RX Vega show up and compare price and performance to buy GTX1080Ti and one Samsung 960 PRO and than easy to wait i7-6900K or i7-6950X for some nice price.
I doubt X299 could give me something more and upgrade could cost me same as upgrade to one of these two + 500 euro for motherboard.
I must check, I can't say for sure, but I doubt performance difference between X99 8 core and X299 8 core worth 500 euro. Even I have 40 PCI-E lanes and don't need to think about Deliding.
Intel completely surprised me with thermal paste. I expected everything, high price, low performance, bugs, ...low OC. But I never expect they will decide to use paste.
Maybe because earlier launch they didn't had other options. 2 months is huge period to hurry up. OK 1-2 weeks, eventually 3. But 8 weeks earlier....

I don't know how long i7-6900K or i7-6950X could satisfied one graphic card for gaming? Probably long, long time.
Probably until DDR5, PCI-E 4.0 and similar things...

you're pretty safe with your x99.  it seems--to me--EVGA is doing some 'redesigns' on their x299 boards.  I don't get why Intel felt it important / necessary to cut the features that we've been getting all along?  like 40 to 28 lanes on an eight core CPU?  or felt it necessary to add a very low end CPU to their HEDT?  look, in the past, if you wanted to go Enthusiast, you had to pay.  it's always been that way.  The whole i5 on HEDT is a direct response--and a poor one--to AMD's surprise with Ryzen and attractive pricing.

your best upgrade right now would be to focus on the best graphics card you can buy.  I have a x99 Rampage 10 and I plan to skip this series from Intel.  it's a downgrade

7740x is a place holder? No. It doesn't make sense. If someone is going to buy a 7740x, then they should get a z270. I totally agree with GamerNexus!

To each his/her own I suppose.  I am coming from x79 so for me the jump is worth it.  I would agree that not giving the new I-7's 40+ PCIe lanes is not nice.  If I had x99 then I would not be upgrading either.  I have decent components at the moment and feel no need to upgrade other things.  I am glad AMD is now somewhat competitive.  Hopefully in the long run that will help people in both camps get nice systems at a decent price.

well, it is extremely hard to confirm this or deny it...
same like if this mother boards will be available in EU at this same time in US

had to go with asus x299 deluxe for now but if EVGA will not be available in EU at the same time that Rampage(apex and extreme will be released later) I will have to stick with asus

Don't know about your feelings but in my opinion EVGA just dont give a crap about European customers...
I am very disappointed :(

enjoy your RMA if you got a problem with the asus board ;)

You will cry when Rampage VI Extreme show up.
But I think EVGA will launch X299 Dark soon.
It's beautifull board, I would be satisfied on your place with X299 Dark because you probably don't need more than 4 DIMM slots, me too.
Actually for me 16GB is enough for now.
Memory is not cheap and should be used only how much you really need and something for free, 16GB is enough for most gamers.
32GB perfectly match for 99% customers. 64 GB is serious system and overkill for most.
If someone specific need 128GB he will probably use slower kits on 2666MHz example and could install on X299 FTW K.

EVGA X299 Dark have 4 slots as Apex.
EVGA X299 FTW-K 8 slots as Extreme.

X299 Dark have something attractive, I can't explain, somehow become nicer when you look her longer.
Longer you have you will like her more, that's for sure.

For me EVGA X299 Dark is nicer than X299 FTW-K.
But EVGA X299 FTW-K is nicer than whole previous line, X99. Both are nicer than EVGA X99.

A time machine so I could fast forward until EVGA releases these boards.

I don't know... first EVGA GTX1080Ti FTW3 Hybrid, than i9-7900X X299 Dark and probably 32 or 64GB Trident Z with Black heatsink to fit with board and GPU and black sleeve cables.

What you have 3 Intel Skylake-X. What you do with them?
They are ES or retail?
Damn you have all 3 models, i9-7900X, i7-7820X and i7-7800X hahaa haaaa
You plan same and with 12-14-16 and 18 cores models, i9?
