Re: Buy GTX 1080 Ti/1080 - Get Destiny 2 2017/06/18 14:44:46 (permalink)
Hey Guys, I have a question. I want to purchase the 1080 ti FTW3 and qualify for the free Destiny 2. In order to do so, do I need to buy the card from evga.com or can I buy it from somewhere else? It says "Purchase any graphics card from the qualifying list above on or after June 6, 2017 from EVGA.com" however, on the websight the only option I can find for the FTW3 is NOTIFY.

I would really like some help!
Thanks so much!

I purchased my 1080 Ti FTW3 on 6 June. I'm on the EVGA Destiny 2 promotional page at the part where it says please submit your request in the form here under the collect your code header but there is no form. Then there is a code/message that says For residents of the United States or Canada only. Is this true? Obviously I'm not in the United States or Canada...

Edit: Is this for online store brought cards only? Confused.

Only cards bought from evga.com can get codes from evga. If uou bought from evga, you need to be on your respective region evga page to claim the codee. Eu customers usually can not get codes from us based evga.com. US customers can not claim codes from eu.evga.com.

I brought from a retail store in NZ on June 6. It says I may be eligible for Destiny 2 on the view my software bundles page but I can't find a code on either the US, Asia or AU EVGA pages.

Actually on the AU Destiny 2 page it says "You have no qualified registered products" and " Valid only for purchases after 13 June to 27th June, 2017"

Do you guys think destiny 2 will be any good or just another bad unoptomized console port. It is made by bungie which I have a lot of faith in so fingers crossed.

If the port were also being handled by Bungie, I would not be the least bit worried. That said, it is being handled by Vicarious Visions. I will remain cautiously optismistic until I play the beta.

Just to clarify, this is only for a purchase through a retailer that provides you with a code.

I had to find an 1080TI SC2 Hybrid from Amazon.com (not CA) so I'pm guessing I don't qualify...

I just bought a 1080 SC2 off of EVGA wesbite. I know I have to wait to get my product to register my serial number. Will I still  be able to redeem code if I purchased before promo was over, but receive the item after the promo ends?

I successfully redeemed my game code, and GeForce Experience shows that the game was redeemed. Blizzard's battle.net page shows "no games associated with this Blizzard account" at the top, but I do see an entry for Destiny 2 further down. I don't know if Destiny 2 was listed before I redeemed the code or not. Can anyone verify this is normal?

This may be why:

When it is out? September 6, 2017 on console and October 24 on PC

The beta starts July 18th.

I bought a 1080Ti and registered it, yet EVGA site says the promotion is over or something along that line.

Where do I get my Destiny 2 code? And yes, I have ordered it after June 13.

Did you pick it up today? When you registered, your registration date needs to match the date on your receipt. The promotion ended yesterday, 27 June. If you bought the card today, you missed the window. If you purchased it before, but input the wrong date, you may need assistance from support to get the correct date input.

I purchased a code from Kinguin.net for $45 and activated it through Gforce Experience and it's listed on my battle.net profile on line, but not in the app.

$45 is better than $60 but really the promo should be available to anyone that buys an EVGA/NVIDIA card regardless of retailer. Exclusive niche deals suck for the consumer and that is the target audience...

This niche deal doesn't suck for consumers. You get something valued at $60 as long as you use an authorized retailer.. it's a pretty basic and straightforward. It ended yesterday, and the dates were put out the day nvidia launched the promo as well as where to purchase and how to redeem. Usually Nvidia just stops the promo when they are done with it, but this time they finally put a blunt 14 day window from the beginning.

The other option, nvidia just doesn't run any deals. I think. The consumer benefits from following a few basic guidelines in this situation.

It sucks for the consumer that has to wait for one of the authorized retailers to have stock and it sucks for the small business owner cpu store that wants to pass on a cool deal to customers. By only partnering on a few retailers it kicks the other retailers in the balls for doing nothing...it forces artificial shortages at the authorized retailers so as a consumer you miss out because you weren't camping on the availability of a card (sitting on a page hitting refresh) and drives smaller etailers and retailers to find other products to sell...I don't think you could show the value in only partnering with a few select retailers vs running a flat special on the code for anyone that buys it from time x to time Y. I never said you should be rewarded for not following the rules, I said the promo should be available to anyone that purchased an nvidia branded card during the time the promo was going.

I own a small business and all my etailers and retailers see the same pricing regardless of how much volume they spend because they're just as much my customer as the end user. The same applies to high end video cards, if it's a matter of number of available copies of a certain game then say that (limited number of copies available) or if they want to run a promo like $30 off a CD key with purchase and you get early access that would be a win win. It would cover all customers who purchase a card during a specific time, provide folks with a AAA title at half off and not impact the cost to Nvidia and EVGA as much (if any). These CD keys aren't free so there's a cost impact there somewhere.

If mom and pop stores want to get in on promos, they need to partner with companies that offer the same deals they want to be in on, and they need to become authorized retailers.. plain and simple.

I understand people are going to find fault with every single offer that is put out there, but there are repercussions for not buying from authorized retailers that.. such as warranties.. If a user buys from an unauthorized mom and pop store, they may forfeit full warranty, as the card would be considered second hand. If the stores are partnered with EVGA, and become an authorized retailer, there would be no complaints because they would get the game code and will always get full warranty.

Why is this? It stops people from buying products from unauthorized retailers and retailers that may have acquired the product in a less than favorable way.

Even buying from some authorized retailers, like best buy, the warranties may be completely different as best buy has it own part numbers (great way to avoid price matching, since the part numbers aren't the same).

These promos are not forcing false stock issues.. bitcoin mining is. There is a difference. Especially since you can buy any brand nvidia card and get the promo. If users strictly want the promo, they can pick from many brands, just review the nvidia authorized partner list.

Great! That did it! I must say that it is a little confusing because every link returned the non-EU site. In any case, I got it.

You already requested the code, so check the page where you requested it. The code usually populates right there, where the request code button use to be.
