Seeing X299 release pissed me off because it was just a cash grab from Intel, but Evga's sexy motherboard with no Rgb might make me change my mind...

I think some people don't want to really pay the extra for a feature they plan to disable but the reality is the added RGB will not add that much to the price. I would say it's the kind of saving that if it was removed the savings would be extra profit and not change what the consumer would pay as we are talking about a few bucks. A good example would be how the PS4 Slim is supposed to cost Sony 40% less to build but they charge the same price as the PS4 and instead just make a higher profit off of it.

I was too little bit upset about this release. It was just money grab and panic from Intel. Altough, Evga X299 Dark:

Just wish the finish wasnt a black gloss & font so inconsistent

Also, will most likely be very rare to come across for a few months after the cpu's are released

    Why is X299 Fail?
Yes X299 Dark is something different completely than other market.
Very attractive motherboard. People USA will have great chance and discounts at the end of summer and I suggest to be patient and wait August when Intel planed to launch X299,
and than to decide about CPU model and motherboard. i7-7820X is probably best for gamers.
It's not inferior with clocks to Ryzen and have higher frequency and it's better performer.
i9-7900X is best deal, but simply price is not fair and realistic for gamers.
Somehow and I would not like to compare my 10 cores with AMDs 8.
But i7-7820X is competitor to Ryzen 1800X, off course cost 100$ more because that's Intel.
But it's quad channel, more PCI-E lanes, better chipset with more PCI-E lanes and better memory performance.
I expect higher OC even with very high Turbo Frequency. But maybe 200-300MHz more than AMD Ryzen max.
