X79 Dark usb 3.0 asmedia problem[Solved]

X79 Dark, usb 3.0 asmedia, I have a problem, they worked just fine up until recently, then they vanished, I tried repairing the drivers twice, on the 2nd attempt, the PC crashed to a BSOD in Windows 7 Pro x64, then I uninstalled the usb drivers, then after a reboot, I installed the drivers again, only to have the ports on the top front of My PC stop working for no reason at all. The driver is the latest of course.

    Give this Driver a try  ASMedia USB3.0/3.1 Drivers 
    This is the Driver I am using on my EVGA X79 Dark MB with the Intel® Core™ i7-4820K Processor

    Give this Driver a try  ASMedia USB3.0/3.1 Drivers 
    This is the Driver I am using on my EVGA X79 Dark MB with the Intel® Core™ i7-4820K Processor


    Ok, the driver did install, only 1 red X showed up for a USB controller, but the 8GB stick on the USB 3.0 port is back, now I get to see if this driver sticks around or not, in any case, thanks for the help bcavnaugh.

    Remove any Devices Connect to the USB 3.0 Ports Before you install the Driver.
    If not remove all your USB 3.0 Device Restart the Computer Install the Driver Reboot the Computer
    After you are in the Desktop Plug in your Device (1 at a Time) into each USB 3.0 Port on the REAL I/O Panel and you should hear Windows Sound for Connecting a USB Device and then remove it and you should here the Windows Sound for Disconnecting a USB 3.0 Device.
    Now do this on your Next Device the post any errors noted.
    Do this on each USB 3.0 Ports on the REAR I/O Panel Only NOT the USB 3.0 Header on the Motherboard.
     
    You should also make sure your Intel® X79 Chipset Driver for Windows Drivers a up to date Current Version is 10.1.2.86 Date: 6/12/2017

    I did that, the stick was detected, and so far, is still there, I don't have any usb 3.0 devices installed, currently. 1.16.40 is the latest on the EVGA site, this one is an earlier version, aka: 1.16.36.1

    No, and No, the driver installed just fine, the stick is still there.

    This seems to be solved, now I would hope that EVGA would pull 1.16.40, and replace it with 1.16.36.1.

    1.16.4.0 was the latest for Windows 7/8.1, and I think 10, when I had downloaded it. I just use a 64bit OS.
