Good evening everyone. Having a bit of an issue atm. I just purchased the z270 ftw K Mobo. Now when i try to turn on my pc with my 1080ti FTW 3 Gpu i get a D6 Error with a blank screen and 5 beeps. Now when i install my 980ti the pc is able to post and load up windows 10 still getting error 20-27 but that maybe a memory issue i have to sort out but it still makes no sense to me because my previous board had no issues when i tested my memory sticks. I still have to try the 1080ti on my second pc to see if works, i can't do it tonight because my fiance is using it atm. Just want some advice on what i should do, should i exchange it for another motherboard or is there a work around for this error because it is quite frustrating, i also updated my bios to 1.03 to see if that corrected the issue but had no luck in the issue being corrected. Just need a bit of help trying to figure this out.

D6 No Console Output Devices are found, do you have a Keyboard plugged in?
5 Beeps: This error is stating it cannot detect a keyboard. This can also indicate a video card is not detected Page 145

Make sure your Card is seated and Locked in the PCIe Slot (Next to the CPU) and that BOTH 8-Pin PCIe Power Cables are Seated in the Graphics Card.

    What is your Hardware:
    MB EVGA Z270 FTW K
    CPU?   i5 6600k
Memory Make and Model Number? corsair Ddr4 3000mhz  CMK8GX4M2B3000C15
(Corsair LPX 2400MHz is not enough Info to know what your memory is)
Power Supply Make and Model Number and Age? Evga 850w g2 power supply, it's about a year old.

    Other:
"makes no sense to me because my previous board had no issues when i tested my memory sticks" Make a lot of sense, they are two different Motherboards.
    What is this Other Motherboard?

I'm going to try to reseat the 1080ti again after I get home from work later on I will also put up some images as well. If I have no luck I'm going to swap back to my z170 board and see what happens.

Remember that the memory make work on one motherboard brand and chipset and not another. Start of with only One Memory Stick.
Also your Memory CMK8GX4M2B3000C15 is not listed here https://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/ as being supported on your MB.
I am not saying that your memory will not work.
This is what is listed for your 3000MHz MB on EVGA's Website from the above link.

Agreed. So far I don't see any probs with the memory in he bios, also the xmp profiles work fine. I just don't know why this gpu won't seat right. I install my 980ti everything is fine. The 1080ti goes in. Get d6 error.

Press and Old the Red Button the Motherboard for 10 Seconds AS you Power On the Computer.
You also should have CSM Disabled in the Bios for Windows 10 and or you Graphics Set to UEFI and Not Legacy Mode.
Check this After you have done the Red Button Action Above.

You are plugging in Both 8-Pin Power Cables in the GTX 1080 Ti Correct?

Also if you have a cable a 6-Pin GPU PCIe Power Cable plug it in on the Bottom Left of your Motherboard.
It gives extra Power to the PCIe Slots.

Tried it still had no luck with the 1080 ti, what was interesting was when i went back to my 980ti after i did what you just told me, i started to get d6 on my 980ti, i'm starting to think it's just the board itself and not the gpu. So i may rma the board and just pick the z170 board i have until i get a replacement.

I would do this before you send in your RMA.
Remove your CPU and Re-Seat it and your Cooler.
Check for Bent CPU Socket Pins also when you remove the CPU.

Bummer that no other EVGA Z270 FTW K Motherboard Owners chimed in on this Thread.

Agreed more info would have been great, i do really appreciate all your help, i checked for bent pins, i do not have a magnifying glass so i tried my best to make sure none were...so i swapped my z170 board back in checked the pins as best as i could seated the cpu and installed my 1080 ti and everything is working great at the moment. Just sucks i really like the layout of the z270 FTW K.

about the same setup but GTX-1080 FTW2

shot in the dark but try some video setting  in BIOS ie auto select on or off or no internal graphics
that was old school stuff and I guess and not so true now but worth a shot

AND i guess the FTW3 has the dual BIOS so may as well try that too
