Im all up in arms after this recent issue!

i installed nvidia's recent drivers, don't remember which at this point. My issue is that i can't even boot up my pc to the desktop as im getting bsod error of "system thread exception not handled".

I haven't done anything else hardware wise that would cause this issue other than my recent driver update.
After my crash i noted the log file(SrtTrail.txt) it directed me to, only to find it says "A recent driver installation or upgrade my be preventing the system from starting".My OS' SSD drive status is healthy and all partitions are in good health as well.I can't even get into safe mode. i've tried so many methods and none have worked. Only constant BSOD's. I'm on Win10 btw.
I have pix of all this but its quicker for me to explain here.

My perposed solution/question is , is there a manual way to uninstall my drivers that are causing this issues and reinstall them via the CMD (command prompth)? Or maybe just install another driver over this one?
Or maybe you guys have some better solutions? i'm up for advice at this point so thanks in advance!

Boot into safe mode, uninstall driver. Try pressing escape or f11 to get the option to boot into safe or start a recovery.

If the driver is actually the issue, safe mode will not load it, it will use a generic driver.

    Which O/s are you using?

Win10 I believe is ctrl or shift f8... but you may need to google that and then use DDU

eh, i can't boot into safe mode.

Even if i get to the advanced boot manager screen, if i select safe mode i brings me right back to the BSOD screen.

Press and hold the "reset cmos" button on your board for maybe 5 seconds or so if you haven't already.  From there, see if you can get to the BIOS or Windows...

But safe mode doesn't load any drivers, and is minimal start up. Post boot in to safe mode should be straight forward.

Do you have a old card you could install?

It will reset your boot process to a factory state.  You can get to the BIOS but not Windows after resetting the CMOS, or haven't you done it yet?

If you aren't getting to Windows, and you are trying safe mode, it may be an overclock issue. Reset the cmos and try again. If you are overclocking, it sounds like it isn't the driver causing the issue.

Well my mobo has a apu so im using integrated video atm. Just as a sort of debugger until i can sort my graphical issue. i have my 970 removed just as well to further me along this process. i've exhausted all the windows options except for reset , but my concern is that i have data and programs installed on this drive and i don't seek to have to install all of them again being they are all seperate. But i have to reset then i wish to safe guard at least my data. Is there a manual way to do this, if i have too?

Resetting the CMOS doesn't affect data on your drives.

Since you have an onboard video connection, boot into Windows on that and run this in safe mode  >>  http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

It should automatically reboot you to safe mode.  See if that will resolve your issue.  Read the instructions and follow the recommended method.

If you can't access safe mode do the following...

    • On a working PC, go to the Microsoft software download website.
    • Download the media creation tool and then run it.
    • Select Create installation media for another PC.
    • Choose a language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
    • Follow the steps to create installation media, and then select Finish.
    • Connect the installation media you created to your nonfunctional PC, and then turn it on.
    • On the initial setup screen, enter your language and other preferences, and then select Next. If you're not seeing the setup screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer's website for info on how to change your PC's boot order, and then try again.
    • Select Repair your computer. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore.

This will remove recently installed apps, drivers, and updates that might be causing your PC problems. Restoring from a restore point won’t affect your personal files.

Windows will boot into the repair screen after 3 unsuccessful boot attempts. Since that is not happening, you may have a video card going south. You might want to try the above procedure without the external card and get the system operational, then try the GPU setup.

windows 10 did away with the f8 option. to get into safe mode you can hold shift while clicking restart, you can do this from the login screen if it will come up. otherwise you can boot into the troubleshooter via a usb stick or windows will automatically go to it after a few failed attempts.  but it sounds like even windows was crashing with safe mode.

Hopefully you did a restore point before you did the Nvidia update. Just put in your windows 10 dvd or whatever media you used to install windows 10. Follow the instructions to take your PC back to your restore point. Then forget that Nvidia ever releases anything as long as what you have is working for you.
