Well we just basically got told lots of VR stuff and micro transaction hell for Fallout 4.

I see the modders that wish to sell being ripped off again. Customers being taken advantage of though these micro-transactions.

Fallout 4 VR, we all know Gameworks is like a cancer for the game. If they do not implement a no gameworks option, or put in GPUOpen Well if you do not have a 500/600-2k dollar processor and 600-1k worth of AMD GPU's its going to be lag hell in VR.

I said the micro-transactions were coming, Beta was the steam paid mods, phase one is the mod workshop in both Fallout 4 and the remastered SKyrim game, the last phase is this mod club or whatever they called it... paid mods. Milking the community for every last penny they will attempt to control the mod community with this, and make it so all mods go though them at some point. With all the products being pumped out yeah Bethesda is going the ways of EA at this point.

More like going the way of Valve (Steam) in my opinion.

Bethesda was kind of disappointing at the keynote. Nothing really excited me and I kind of have realized I like Bethesda games but always wait for them to have a few patches before buying them.  With the idea of micro transactions for games that are buggy out of the gate I would really have to be interested to pick one up. While Fallout 4 was a good game it didn't feel as cutting edge on the graphics as I would have wanted for a new game.

Yes kind of like Valve but not like valve, you are not modders, the modding community is now in a rabid frenzy. Forums/FB/Twitter/Reddit. Bethesda took how big of a chunk last time from the workshop stuff? Now the middle man is cut out, what Bethesda has been doing has been having ripples in the modding community itself. We see what is coming unfortunately. This is not like Valve this is more like a EA move with their eyes on the prize those micro transaction goodness of making more profit from them than the actual game. How it will go down you sign up to do your mods, Beth looks your stuff is decent they will say ya or na, you will not get paid by the hour, nor have all the tools that they have given to you, you will have to use your own. your own power, time, and you will get a tiny cut, and I am sure there is a clause in there that they own what you make, you say anything about how they are going to rip you off they will sue you into oblivion, and there may even be a clause like the game industry anything you make during your free time belongs to us.

I keep hearing/reading people express their disappointment about Bethesda's E3 presentation. Now while it wasn't the "mic drop" that they had when they announced Fallout 4, I was still pretty happy. I'm very apprehensive about their implementation of paid mods, though. If it's just gonna be a whole buncha stuff on the level of Oblivion's horse armor, then, I really don't support this. Though, if it's on the level of Shivering Isles, then we might have something to be cautiously optimistic about. Though, I doubt it will be stuff that in depth. Maybe there will be more polished mods by people as talented as Trainwiz. Still though, Trainwiz and other modders release their stuff for free, sooo yea. Anyhoo, yea, as I was saying, I was pleased with Bethesda this year. Wolfenstein 2, Dishonred: Death of the Outsider and The Evil Within all looked pretty good to me.

It's kinda in between Horse Armor and Shivering Isles.

Im just sitting back and waiting to see what happens.   It's generally taken the modding community to improve on what Bethesda does.  But if I'm limited to choosing only the mods and modders that meet Bethesda's "standards" of the Creative Community, then it looks like Im pretty much done with Bethesda.   Especially if I have to deal with that garbage they call Beth.net.   I'm hoping otherwise.

I don't know why people are so against paid mods. If people spend time to make content for a game, shouldn't they be rewarded for it? It's much more than they get now on the Steam marketplace.

You guys act like Bethesda is going to steal people's mods and turn them into microtransactions.

The Destiny stuff was pretty cool though. (I know it has nothing to do with Bethesda)
Bethesda will probably show the ultime definitive super deluxe VR version of Skyrim next year.

Even though Fallout 4 VR and Skyrim VR are both evolutionary announcements, it's the first time VR is getting true open world sandbox RPG gaming options. IMHO, the announcement was only good for VR adopters.

Elder Scrolls VI would have been nice, but maybe not realistic, time wise. The time between releases seems to be increasing. Oblivion in '06, Fallout 3 in '08, Skyrim in '11 and Fallout 4 in '15(I didn't include New Vegas, as that was developed by Obsidian). Assuming it were in development, I suppose it could have at least been announced, but they probably want to announce it a few months from release like they did with Fallout 4. Also, I'm not sure how many people were involved or how much time it took, but Skyrim Remastered probably took away from some of the resources that could possibly otherwise have been put toward Elder Scrolls VI. I don't work for Bethesda and  i don't work in game development, so what I said here could be completely wrong, just sharing my two cents.

Become? Bethesda is well over the billionaire mark. Skyrim alone made roughly a 1.3 Billion dollar profit.

They are likely in the same ballpark with Fallout 4.

Now while I believe they deserve every penny for those fantastic games, any microtransactions that bethesda puts in is just pure greed.

Elder Scrolls VI could still very well be in development, though. The core Elder Scrolls series is developed by Bethesda Game Studios, while ESO is developed by ZeniMax Online Studios.

I have no doubt it's in development. But I don't think they will announce it until Elder Scrolls Online has died down some. They wouldn't announce a new open world Elder Scrolls game that would create direct competition with their other Elder Scrolls product. Especially after Elder Scrolls Online just released a new expansion. They have to milk that cow dry before they do another numbered Elder Scrolls game.

I'll patiently wait for it and keep playing ESO until ES VI releases(probably after it releases, too). I think it's still pretty fun. Much better than it was at release, IMO.

For some LARGE scale mods I can see it, but otherwise, it's a cash grab.  However I do like the curation system, so it wont hose your saves and all are intercompatible, that is a very good thing.  Back when I was modding in Morrowind, I saw and played some mods that were huge plot driven questlines that were as big or bigger than the original game, and definitely bigger than the xpacs, things like that I can see being on their store, otherwise, aside from curation I am not wild about the idea.
