Before I apply for another RMA. Just wanted to check with any support in here.
A few weeks ago I RMA'd a fried 780 that i'd had for almost 3 years. While I waited for the replacement I was running the video card I used prior to the 780 with little problem. After finally getting the new card I spent around 3 hours just getting it recognized as an nvidia card(windows 7 Issue apparently with gpu drivers). It ran fine for approximately 2 hours before it started failing.
At first it would pop in and out of black screen with a driver failure message. Left the game and restarted the computer. After this the computer would hang or crash after a short time of use. One time the screen simply went black and the fans went nuts. I use gpu-z to track temperatures and the highest I ever saw it go was 61 degrees celsius.
I've double checked the drivers and tried reseating it several times but it does not improve. I've since gone back to the old card and everything is running fine. Is this likely the card? I don't have a spare rig to test anything else.
My system is:
windows 7 64 bit
asus p8z68-v/gen3 Mobo
intel I7-2700k processor
4x Corsair vengeance ddr3 1699mh 4gb ram sticks
Kingwin kx-1000 modular power supply
