Hey guys, Whomever is on x99 + 6950X and not water cooling VRMs and Chip can you post your PCH temperature. I know this is EVGA M/B forum but I would appreciate if you could share that info, please. I upgraded from Rampage IV black and 4960X to Asus x99 WS 10G + 6950X. My Rampage was fully watercooled and that is Chip, VRMs included and because the x99 WS 10G is specialty board no manufacturer makes any of these blocks, which is OK I have no problems with my temps but I'm curious about your PCH temps, that is the only info I would like to see Thanks Sorry I meant to post this on Motherboard section I don't know what happen, unless it's OK here

when i got my x99-e ws i was a bit worried about PCH temps they were up in the 70s, once the PCH heatsink bedded in, it now sits 38c - 40c on the stock heatsink using 5960x

Thanks for your input. My PCH temps is relatively high, on idle in ambient of 23C can sit at 50-51C on idle and heavy work load 57-59C and I have good air flow in my case. My CPU temps are 23-24C all cores pretty much the same and at stock and VRM 39-40C which is pretty good. People reporting around 50-60 PCH temps so I'm not far off, but I'm use to much lower temps. My rampage IV black which was fully watercooled had PCH temp of 31-32C so its big difference. I don't know how are the stock thermal pads on this board, I'm almost tempted to change it and see if that will make any difference. Sadly, because this is specialty board no block are available Anyone else can share some of their info

I know not to expect the same temps from this board that I was getting on my rampage and the fact that the VRMs and PLX x2 and PCH is cooled by air will make a big difference. Althou, Im wondering if the thermal pads on PLX and PCH are as good as they should. I have some 05mm and 1mm Arctic I am so tempted but on the other heand you would think that with bord like that they wouls supply better thermal pads and maybe thethey are good thermal pads and I would have to take everything apart, if only I know that would help I would do it with no hasitation Thanks for the link I dont know why i dont like monoblocks, my Heatkiller 4 pro is great I would hate to replace it

Even thou I didn't get whole lot response here, I'm going to post my findings and who knows this small info might help others in near future. As I was saying my x99 WS 10G was producing ton of heat, but I wasn't the only one, someone with x99 WS 3.1 USB which is pretty much the same had even higher temp , his PCH was 60-61C and VRM 58-59C, well this board in made to withstand torture, but I was hoping to lower those temps a bit and I did. I got Fujipoly Extreme 1.5 mm for PCH and VRMs and 1mm for PLX. temps dropped from: PCH 51C to 39-40C VRM 40 to 37C That is a big difference. You would think in motherboard that costs over $1000 they would put high quality thermal pads So if you ever wonder if changing thermal pads or paste from stock to something better, here you have it, it made a big difference in my case, now I'm content with those temperatures

Nice improvements and great choice on pads. Fujipoly is my go to for pads even though they can be tough to find.
