I felt this needed its own thread as it is currently tacked onto the shipping thread.

As seen in recent EVGA photos and now confirmed by my GPU arriving, the color of the shrouds are vastly different from what was advertised.
IMO this is not a case of a slightly different shade of color, but a completely different product from what most people are likely to be expecting.

While this obviously does not affect product performance, the shroud color is the ONLY point of the Elite model (and higher price) and why we all waited an extra month for this product.
Blue and Red seem to be the worst of the bunch.

EDIT:
EVGA contacted me to make sure I was satisfied and has updated the pictures on the product page to more accurately represent the color options.
Since I hotlinked, you can no longer see what the original pictures looked like that were the basis for our pre-order decisions.

See a great comparison here (thanks ipaine): https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2674066

I guess I didn't notice it that much before. With the pictures right next to each other. It's a legitimate point.

EVGA did recently made a Facebook post showing what they looked like (May 22), but by then I assume that everyone had already purchased them... I personally like the vibrant colors though!
Edit: This photo didn't load on the OP's post... lol.

I can easily spot the difference between colors, the depth not as vibrant, it does make a difference.

I'm glad I stuck with white.  Not much can change with that.

I'm wishing i went with white instead lol.
It seems like if you went white or green you were ok.
The wait has been so long now I'd hate to send it back for it being wrong color.

The original pictures red is like a burgundy -maroon, and the blue is teal.
Now in person the red is a more of a vibrant true red, the blue is a true blue and the green is a lime color.
Not sure I would be happy with it either.

It's not like EVGA didn't know what was being manufactured prior to them photographing the products on a table. They should have come out with a "this is what the Elites look like, and we understand they differ from what was advertised. This is a product of manufacturing constraints. Contact Support if you would like to modify your order.", and they should have sent that the instant they saw samples. You can say it's a product of lighting, but that doesn't change the fact that the stock silver was rendered in the same fashion, and the actual product looks identical to what is pictured. Its not like people are nitpicking here. Elites payed in time and money exclusively predicated on color. The only material on which to base that decision was those renders, and there was no evidence to the contrary until ship date.

I too would like an official response from EVGA. I likely would not have sprung for the elite version if I'd known I'd be getting a candy-apple red card, instead of a copper/burgundy one. If I was one of the customers who ordered a blue card, I'd be livid.

Combine the extra cost, extra time, and lack of other differences between the regular version, and I don't think it's worth the investment I've already paid. I would have had a regular 1080Ti FTW3 by now, instead of waiting an additional month. This needs to be addressed.

The concept model is obviously CGI, probably done in Cinema 4D, thats why lol
But OP has a valid point, I'd be pissed too. I ordered Black.

If you ordered black you should still be pissed. That looks dark grey to me. No where near the flat black they advertised.

I was going to order the red FTW3, because I thought it would match the red in my case. In the end I had no idea what shade of red it was going to be so I ordered the normal FTW3. I got tired of waiting and my 780 was struggling to power my 1440p 144hz monitor.

Would have been nice if it was the rendered color.

That would be lighting and color corrections made by the cameras, even the picture taken here looks different.

The top and bottom pictures looks closer than the twitter picture, and that is probably because of the difference in angle and the harsh light used for the twitter picture blowing out the exposed parts of the card.  Look where there is shadows, and the colors are almost identical.

That did the trick! It is now updated at both sizes. The pics are still a little flattering compared to the camera phone pics IMO, but the hues are in line with reality now, at least.

The colors look the same to me, just a variance in lighting, hard to say for sure though. It doesn't look bad. Regardless, you got a unique card that will resell well on top of being collectible down the road. I wanted a white one just for the aura lighting I have in my case to reflect on it, wish I had the dough to buy another gpu or would of snagged an elite easily! I'll be putting my step-up in for the SC TI next week or so. Anyways. It looks good to me and doesn't appear Evga mislead or false advertised, just my two cents.

I'm right there with you.  I didn't see a lot of variance between the colors but that could be the camera, my monitor, my eyes....

If you're referencing the pics in this thread, all the high quality ones were references to the ones in the EVGA product page, which has now been changed to reflect what the cards actually look like. The red, maybe, you couldn't discern a difference, but the blue was straight up a different color. Essentially the difference between cyan and blue.

The colors in the original post changed when the website changed the images.

The OP just embedded based on URL rather than copying them elsewhere.

Thank you EVGA for giving me a call (even though I missed it).

FYI for those who think it's just lighting:
Since I made this post, they updated the photos I hotlinked so new viewers to this post will not be able to see the difference.

Accurate color representation is what I wanted in the first place.
Thanks EVGA for the update.

While I did not get any of them I would also be quite annoyed at the differences in color compared to what we were shown and what they came out as.

This is what we were shown originally:                                                                                                         What we got:

So couldn't find an original picture of the black so can't say how off they are but man if I ordered blue or red I would not be pleased. At least the green is pretty close, but the red and blue are way different. Oh pictures are pulled from Jacob's twitter for the old ones and the current product page for the new ones.

Oh I found the black one. Not much of a difference, a little bit more of a matte than the metallic look but nothing huge.

Another thought I had, and why I think it is important that EVGA does something about this. If you were buying a new car based off of the color shown, would you not expect it to be that color when you got it? Honestly with the manufacturing nowadays there is no reason to not have a color accurate rendering. Hell back a many a year, I worked in a plastics factory and while most everything was specific base colors, we could still do damn near whatever the customer requested. We certainly would not have been able to pass off that blue or red as what the customer wanted.
