According to the inventory list on the Step-Up page, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition GAMING is now available for Step-Up. It's replaced the 1080 Ti FE.

I'm just glad I have a hybrid kit for my 1080 Ti FE on the way, or else I'd be pretty bummed :)

Good news for all that waited, though!

You see any other company out there who gives you a chance to upgrade your graphics card?

I had a reply from evga support when I queried this:

    Hi,,

Thank you for contacting technical Support. Sorry for the inconvenience while step up.
We are working on those models to make available on selection menu at step up page, they should be available soon.
Please be patient till they are available again on drop down menu, Please try after some time and thank you for your patience.

The ICX update is not counted, only the invoice price you paid for the card in the store

Why? The PCB on the black edition sc is exactly as the founders edition, your hybrid kit would fit. All the sc black edition has is the ICX cooler, no ICX sensor or custom pcb...

I'm at Step 2 of 4 for the founders edition. So you are saying that the black edition is identical, except for the cooler? In that case, I may just go with the founders edition and the hybrid kit.

Yep, same PCB. All it has is the better ICX cooler, and a small overclock out of the box. That's it. I have two founders and I'm stepping up to the blacks because I can't stand the noise FE cooler. Just $20 more each. Some day may go full waterblocks and since blacks are same FE PCB I'm safe.

Same here. This is my first time utilizing the Step-Up program and I can't wait. I've always heard about the great customer service EVGA has and so far I haven't been disappointed.

I did one before I stepped up from a 660 to a 680. At first it was very slow waiting for them to get them in stock. Keep in mind when I say very slow it wasn't really that long I believe the wait was like 4 weeks possibly 6. Not that bad really just when your waiting to get that new card days feel like weeks and weeks feel like months . šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ When they got them in Stock it went very quickly and there were hundreds waiting to do the step up back then.

Here are some of the differences.

They tweaked the vram base plate design to get lower tempos then the founders edition is one main difference other then the cooler.

Founders edition doesn't have the dvi-d port and the sc2 does.

The fans can soon independently of each other so if your memory temp is high and the house isn't only one fan speeds up instead of both. Also is much quieter then the FE.

Thats the SC2, different from the Ti SC black edition we are discussing here. The Ti SC black edition its the same FE pcb (with a dvi port) and the cooler. No independent fan spin, nor sensors anywhere like the SC 2.

I stepped up to the FE, then they offered the SC Black so I am in queue for it now, but I've been waiting for like 3 weeks or more. Anyone else having long wait times for this step-up?

I've been waiting since 5/22 to step up from a 1080 SC to a 1080 ti SC Black. The products still shows with "Auto-Notify" on  so I figure we will continue to wait until that changes.

Have you started the step-up process? If not you want to do that and get in queue before 90 days is up or you will not be able to.  No matter if item is in stock or not you can still enter the queue even if it takes 180 days as long as your in queue you get to step-up.  If not in queue you will be out of luck.
