It's also possible, since it was purchased via EVGA, they it may be registered automatically for you.  It doesn't always happen, though.  If not, you can either contact EVGA via phone or chat (they registered my FTW2 for me) or follow the link arestavo provided.  Enjoy your card!  My green one arrives on Friday. :)

No it is Not Registered Automatically for you. You Must Go Here:
Affiliate Code you must also upload your invoice the you get from EVGA.

https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

Register your valid product within 90 days from your original purchase
  1. If your qualifying product has a 3 year warranty purchased on or after 3/1/2013 and registered within 14 days of the invoice date by the original owner from an authorized reseller, then you will receive the option to step-up for the first 90 days of ownership.
  2. If your qualifying product has a 3 year warranty purchased on or after 1/1/11 and registered after 14 days of the original purchase date you must also purchase an extended warranty in order to be qualified for the step-up program.
Step-Ups are Registered Automatically as are EVGA Products you get back from an RMA, they are based on your Original invoice date for your EVGA Product.

You only need to do this "If not, you can either contact EVGA via phone or chat" if you have problems or cannot register your Card.

No it is not.

Cards purchased directly from them are actually supposed to be as far as I've read from people on here (and a rep I spoke to when getting my FTW2 done), but if that's changed, no big deal, I suppose.  May have just been a one-time thing for the FTW2 upgrade, then.  If so, thanks for the correction.

Your "one-time thing for the FTW2 upgrade" was like a Step-Up and Step-Ups are Registered Automatically as are cards you get back from an RMA.

You're welcome!  Between bcavnaugh and arestavo, you should be all set. :)   As you'll see on the website, the registration is a simple process.

Thanks, it's my first new GPU in over 6 years and my first EVGA product ever. Quite excited about it!

No, they shouldn't be.  RMA cards, and limited-time promotions, like the iCX Upgrade, are registered to the customer.  For regular purchases, they will not be automatically registered.  Think of it this way, if you buy a card from the EVGA store, you may be buying it for yourself or a family/friend or donating to someone.  Heck, you may be helping someone out by purchasing a product because family/friend does not have a credit card or other way to pay for it.  A third reason could be an IT department purchasing a product for a company.  Regardless, it's not convenient to automatically register a product to the purchaser, since that would create warranty complications for the person it's intended for (second-hand warranty, for example).

If anything, it used to be that you would also have to register cards received back from RMA, since they wouldn't be auto-registered to the account.  Thankfully, that's no longer the case.
