Occasionally and for various reasons there are those who encounter a System Error similar to the one shown below after installing and launching EVGA Precision (X/XOC) stating that one or more .dll files are missing from your computer and to try reinstalling the program to fix the problem, even after reinstalling EVGA Precision (X/XOC) to try fixing the problem.
EVGA Precision
should auto-install the included Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributables which contain the needed .dll files into the Windows\Sytem32 folder and also into the Windows\SysWOW64 (or syswow64) folder if you have 64-bit Windows..To get any missing .dll files that are needed but missing/do not get installed for whatever reason, you can try any of the following and not necessarily in any order which should fix you up:
1. Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed for your Windows operating system from Windows Update, of course.
2. Run Windows Update and install any C++ related updates.
3. Open Command Prompt or PowerShell (Admin) and run
sfc /scannow to attempt repair of Windows system files.
4. Temporarily disable your antivirus before installing EVGA Precision.
5. Right-click on the EVGA Precision installer and select
Run as administrator.
6. Open the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC\Redist folder, or the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\Redist folder, and run the vcredist_x86 and vcredist_x64 installers and select
Repair..This is a fairly common fix.
7. Download and run the vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe in the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Micro$oft Visual Studio 2013
here from Micro$oft.
8. If they exist, copy the needed .dll files (to a USB Flash Drive, or whatever) from the same Windows folders on another Windows 7/8/10 PC and paste them into the same folders of your Windows 7/8/10 PC.
9. Download and use the standalone .dll files from my OneDrive page..I have Precision's most commonly needed .dll files listed at the bottom of this post..A Readme is included with each .dll so you don't get the System32 and SysWOW64 ones mixed up..If you need any others, let me know.
BEWARE: There are some websites that offer .dll files in an installer that may very well contain malware..It is not advised to get the needed .dll files this way.
IMPORTANT: The needed .dll files go into the Windows\Sytem32 folder and also into the Windows\SysWOW64 (or syswow64) folder if you have 64-bit Windows..The .dll files have the same name but are different, so when manually installing them be sure you get the right ones in the right Windows folders, and don't forget to create a System Restore Point before monkeying around with system files.
