Occasionally and for various reasons there are those who encounter a System Error similar to the one shown below after installing and launching EVGA Precision (X/XOC) stating that one or more .dll files are missing from your computer and to try reinstalling the program to fix the problem, even after reinstalling EVGA Precision (X/XOC) to try fixing the problem.

EVGA Precision should auto-install the included Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributables which contain the needed .dll files into the Windows\Sytem32 folder and also into the Windows\SysWOW64 (or syswow64) folder if you have 64-bit Windows..To get any missing .dll files that are needed but missing/do not get installed for whatever reason, you can try any of the following and not necessarily in any order which should fix you up:

1. Make sure you have the latest Service Pack installed for your Windows operating system from Windows Update, of course.

2. Run Windows Update and install any C++ related updates.

3. Open Command Prompt or PowerShell (Admin) and run sfc /scannow to attempt repair of Windows system files.

4. Temporarily disable your antivirus before installing EVGA Precision.

5. Right-click on the EVGA Precision installer and select Run as administrator.

6. Open the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\Precision XOC\Redist folder, or the Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\Redist folder, and run the vcredist_x86 and vcredist_x64 installers and select Repair..This is a fairly common fix.

7. Download and run the vcredist_x86.exe and vcredist_x64.exe in the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Micro$oft Visual Studio 2013 here from Micro$oft.

8. If they exist, copy the needed .dll files (to a USB Flash Drive, or whatever) from the same Windows folders on another Windows 7/8/10 PC and paste them into the same folders of your Windows 7/8/10 PC.

9. Download and use the standalone .dll files from my OneDrive page..I have Precision's most commonly needed .dll files listed at the bottom of this post..A Readme is included with each .dll so you don't get the System32 and SysWOW64 ones mixed up..If you need any others, let me know.

BEWARE: There are some websites that offer .dll files in an installer that may very well contain malware..It is not advised to get the needed .dll files this way.

IMPORTANT: The needed .dll files go into the Windows\Sytem32 folder and also into the Windows\SysWOW64 (or syswow64) folder if you have 64-bit Windows..The .dll files have the same name but are different, so when manually installing them be sure you get the right ones in the right Windows folders, and don't forget to create a System Restore Point before monkeying around with system files.

See also: What are Micro$oft Visual C++ Redistributables, why are there so many on my PC, and is it OK to uninstall some of them? for some very good info and links to additional downloads.

These are the most common missing .dll files that I've seen Precision error on and they are from my PC:
msvcp110.dll
msvcr110.dll
mfc120u.dll
msvcp120.dll
msvcr120.dll

Hope this helps those in need.

I have just encountered this bug, installed 6.1.6 fine and ran thru 3-4 reboots....
then the "missing DLL file" error, uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix it

Thats NOT what I expect of the software that is supposed to run my 1080Ti

    Very -BAD- job EVGA

Errors in new functions and plain old bugs are understandable....
That the program will now not even start (after working fine)... is very poor programming indeed.
--->This needs to be -fixed- before any other work is done on the program.

*a big Thank You to the OP for this thread (Blue ribbon suggested) step #6 worked
-->if its going to continue to do so, is another matter, FIX IT!

You're welcome, Maniac, glad that simple solution worked for you..Been down the ".dll missing" road a few times with Precision and although the other solutions have been known to work for others, the quick and easy solution (who don't like quick and easy solutions, huh?) is to either run vcredist Repair or copy the missing .dll files from another Windows machine from the Windows System32 folder and SysWOW64 folder (on a 64-bit Windows machine) and paste them into your Windows System32 folder and SysWOW64 folder (on a 64-bit Windows machine) or from my links..Then *Poof* fixed like magic..Agreed that this is a Precision installer issue.

DLL is a type of DLL file associated with Everquest II Destiny of Velious developed by Sony Online Entertainment Inc. for the Windows Operating System.

The most common DLL  errors that can appear on a Windows-based computer are:
    • "DLL  not found."
    • "The file DLL  is missing."
    • "DLL  Access Violation."
    • "Cannot register vivoxsdk.dll."
    • "Cannot find C:\Windows\System32\\example.dll."
    • "Cannot start Everquest II Destiny of Velious. A required component is missing: vivoxsdk.dll. Please install Everquest II Destiny of Velious again."
    • "This application failed to start because DLL  was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
    How to fix DLL  Error?
    • Simply Download DLL  from web and place the dll file at the below given location based on your OS.
    • Windows 95/98/Me = C:\Windows\System32\
    • Windows NT/2000 = C:\Windows\System32\
    • Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 = C:\Windows\System32\
    • 64-bit Windows = C:\Windows\System32\
    • After placing DLL  file, restart your computer and the dll error will be fixed.

    Welcome to the Forum sil15
You need to update your OS and install Frameworks, this is a Server OS and No Desktop Services are installed or Running by default.
You need it install and set up a few more items on your Server OS to run Desktop Software and Tools.
Also are you running 2008 32 Bit or 64 Bit or are you running 2008 R2?
You might want to create your own Thread for a Server OS, Out of scope from a Standard Desktop OS.
I have no problems running this Software on Server 2008 R2 or Server 2012 R2.

I'm using Windows Server 2008 64 Bit (without R2). Desktop features are installed. (Which features do you mean?) In which section can I create a post?

Try using EVGA Precisionx 16, shouldnt have as much bugs. Only problem, you have to look online for the software since EVGA doesn’t provide it anymore.

In that case it wouldn't hurt to try an older version.

This so far solved my issue with EVGA Flow Control software (I got rid of it for PrecisionX).
After installing my new AIO EVGA water cooler, I had installed Flow Control and it displayed once then never again.  I now have control of it again, but not the LED colours.  Its nice though to see what my GPU is doing.  I also have a EVGA Geforce 660 TI that I can now monitor.
    Thank you.
