The RPM reported is only for the shroud fan, it stays at 0 RPM until power temp hits around 60ºC.
By default, you can't control the rad fan through the VGA, you need to connect it to a fan controller or motherboard fan header.

Then is it normal for the EVGA software to automatically start up the shroud fan? I saw that my shroud fan wasn't spinning so i was worried and didn't want to test running a game just to see if it starts up or not.

EDIT: I just tested it out and you seem to be right. As soon as power temps hit 60ºC it automatically started the shroud fan. However launching the EVGA precision software also makes the shroud fan turn on immediately and at higher speeds.

Check if the "auto" option is set or not in your Precision.
I'm using version 6.1.6 and there is a blue fan over the "P" fan speed slider when that fan is set to auto.

I gave up waiting on this or the MSI, the Corsair Hydro is in stock, but then I would have had to pay sales tax. I just bought two founders and two 1080 hybrid kits from B&H. Good enough

I would like to SLI a pair of these SC2 Hybrids, but I don't have either an opening or space for a second radiator/fan on the back of my case. Also, there are limitations, because the hoses cannot be disconnected for trying to route them out of the case.

So, I've decided that I want to mount one of the radiator/fans horizontally at the top of the case - the one from the highest PCIe slot. However the manual says that the radiator and fan have to be mounted vertically (i.e., basically limiting the mounting location to the back of the case, which only has room for one 120mm fan). I am using a Corsair Obsidian Series Black 800D Full Tower Computer Case. I can't use the front of the case, because it has no fan mount and in any case it is occupied with devices and the hoses won't reach even if I were to hack it up.

What do I need to do or replace to be able to mount the radiator/fan combo of the top PCIe SC2 hybrid card, horizontally to the top of my case? Where does the limitation to have to mount it vertically come from? Is it in the radiator or the fan (which I can replace with an aftermarket fan)? Is it because of an air inside the radiator issue, where the air has to bubble to the top and mounting the radiator horizontally will prevent it from functioning properly?

Put the hybrid kit on my SC2 last night, so far its nice but no longer have memory or power temps via icx nor the led on the side of the card. Seems to be working well other than those issues.
