no, the two for gpu's are connected through the cpu pcie lanes, the rest are through the 270 chip. now depending which m.2 slot you use you may lose some of your pcie lanes off the 270 chip, m.2 slot one ( top one ) will disable the u.2 connector, m.2 slot two (bottom one ) will disable sata ports 2 and 3, and some pcie slots, i have the classified so i am not which ones it will disable but it will. look at the slot or in the manual for which exact ones.

Thanks for the reply, I only have 2 other sata drives in the computer so i'm ok with 2 getting disabled. I noticed on the intel m.2 ssds some say pcie in brackets and some say sata. The pcie ones advertise a larger read write speed. So I'm save to buy the pcie one? Also would there be enough chip set lanes for the m.2 and the sound card? cheers

i have the intel 600p nvme m.2 and it works great, it is pcie x4.
after taking a look at the manual it looks like the lay out is a bit different than the classified is

     M.2 Key-M (110mm, Top) – x4 (Shares with SATA Port 4/5) o M.2 Enable/Disable is set within the BIOS
     M.2 Key-M (110mm, Bottom) – x4 (Shares with SATA Port 0/1) o M.2 Enable/Disable is set within the BIOS
     M.2 Key-E (32mm) – x1 (Shares with PE3) o M.2 Enable/Disable is set within the BIOS
     U.2 x4 PCI-E Gen 3 lanes (Shares with PE1) o U.2 Enable/Disable is set within the BIOS

so it look like if you use the m.2 slots you will lose two sata ports per m.2 110mm slot, the m.2 small one (near the back edge and used for wifi cards)you will lose pe3 which is the small x1 slot, your sound card would go in the x4 slot pe1 at the top or if its a x1 card you could use the bottom slot pe5, it looks like a x16 slot but is only a x1. the video cards will go in pe 2 and 4 which are off the cpu.

Don't forget that the M.2 slot is probably disabled by default so remember either just before M.2 installation or just afterwards to enable this in the BIOs.
