Strange issue with 970 SLI

Hello everyone and thanks for any help.
 
I gave a strange issue with my 2x Sli
 
Card one is an Evga Gtx 970 SSC acx 2.0
card two is an Evga Gtx 970 sc acx 2.0
No overclock on either card
 
When i set up the cards to run initially,go into Nvidia control panel and enable SLI it will work great.
I can fold, run unigine and stress test it into oblivion. But for some reason when it reboots I get a black screen(every-time) sometimes i can make it to the login screen for a few seconds. Sometimes i can even login through the black screen. and hear things but it will black screen on boot every time. (i suspect once the driver loads?)
 
 
If i reboot with only the main card (SSC) active to disable SLI, then reboot and attach the bridge it will boot back into windows and i can enable SLI once again.
 
Rest of the system is
Asrock extreme 6 z170
i3 6100 @3.7 
8 Gb Avexir @ 2666
750w evga psu

    what motherboard bios rev?
    driver cleaner, reload and reboot?
    EUFI or BIOS? (big one) BIOS always works better for me
    what kind of bridge (hard, ribbon High-bandwidth) <--- the most likely cause if i had to guess, I had a ribbon go bad and thats what i had happen, AND it would say my "configuration had changed"

    So when you reboot your computer with sli enabled you see nothing but a black screen until you login to the desktop. Once logged into the desktop it's still black?
