So it's that time of the year when the next call of duty is revealed to the world and this year we have sledgehammer games making the cod this year and we're going back to WW2. Cod for my has been slowly dying due to really bad lag and too much of the same, boots on the ground again may fix the lag I think so looking like it might be a decent title!

What do you guys think? :)

If they do not ruin multiplayer with jetpacks and hello kitty weapon skins, it could be cool.

Yeah I really hope they don't add random crap like dabbing was really annoying in Black ops 3, all they need to do is make a game like they used to and im sure it'll go well.

I bet it will not have these things because it would be very disrespectful to veterans and families of veterans that fought in WWII. However anything is possible with the Cawadewty franshise.

LMAO cawadwety made me crack up, yeah you're right to be honest I don't think they'll do it. Gotta remember they always do that VET donation thing where you buy in-game gun skins and the money goes to the vets, I wonder if they'll donate some revenue from COD:WW2 to that some charity they run.

The recent jet-pack idea was more like an old mod from Half-Life. I hate flying soldiers unless they're in the air from one of my grenades. The WWII concept has potential but I'm not holding my breath. My problem with COD the last few years is it's just a rehash of the same bad ideas.  I've not had fun playing since Modern Warfare, to me the best game they made. But I was younger then so maybe that's the reason too. I don't know.

I hope they fool me this time.

IW had a pretty good story. Let's see how they will be with their roots.

I haven't played a COD game since Modern Warefare.  I feel like I could jump back into a World War 2 era shooter, so I'll be sure to keep my eye on this game.

Well, it's Sledgehammer's turn, and they did a really good job with Advanced Warfare, so I hope they'll do a good job with this one.

Infinity Ward and Treyarch haven't been making really good Call of Duty games though. Black Ops and Modern Warfare 3 are the last really good ones by them (I didn't care for the rest of the Black Ops trilogy, Ghosts, or Infinite Warfare too much).

They are gonna keep making these things as long as people keep buying them, which isn't a bad thing. Same thing with Assassins Creed. I'm not going to buy all of them, but if the quality is good (which it usually is), then I'm happy to jump in every couple years to get a new one.

The last one with the futuristic setting didn't really do it for me. Wasn't that great. I'm pretty sure this WW2 game should be a lot better.

I am interested and hope it starts an era of modern games fallowed up by classic warfare. I wouldn't mind seeing Sledgehammer doing classic games while we see Infinity Ward do modern/futuristic Call of Duty titles.

It would also be great to see a WW2 game that has levels based on town sieges with multiple paths to victory but that isn't really what people expect from Call of Duty. I really miss the era of seeing Medal of Honor, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Call of Duty era of gaming. While WW2 might seem played out I think there is a reason those games are classic.

Maybe; I think the big thing with it was that it got over saturated, too many WW II games and they get rather stale & generic. We've had about a decade for that to cool off, so a return might not be bad at this point. A good mix isn't a bad idea for breaking up the monotony, since they have three developers (one for each series of CoD) and release annually, I'm sure they could pull it off.

First person shooters themselves are a bit saturated, but that's a different subject.

The tech is there to make really cool recreations of famous battles like the Normandy landings so maybe we will see some truly cool stuff. Time will tell.

I may acquire a free "single-player only extended demo" version just to play and see what it's like but I'll never actually BUY another Call of Doody ever again.

They just sent me my email on that. Maybe it's because I'm in the U.S.

Still playing Black Ops 1 here. Maybe this one will convince me to give a new CoD game a try for the first time in a few years.
