Thinking of upgrading from a 4790k to the 5775C. Seems its on par for performance with a 7700k in games and benches. But am wondering if the evga z97 bios is stable with the processor?

I thought about buying either an i5 or i7 broadwell but couldn't justify the cost. It costs more for lower overall performance but with lower power draw and better internal graphics. (I was thinking about using for a HTPC)

Did you find an inexpensive source for it?

    A 4.2 ghz 5775c Actually it beats out 5ghz 7700k's in performance.
At overclock.net these guys all came from the 4790k and saw big improvements. No need to switch out mobo's ram and everything when this is actually faster. Which is why im wanting to get one, but am unsure how it performs on a evga board.  http://www.overclock.net/...dwell-c-ownership-club

That's the first overclocked data I have seen.  Looks good if you want to stay with 1150. Often forum questions are left unanswered.  You might have to call support to see if the latest bios supports broadwell.

There aren't too many retailers that carry it though that I know about.  Are you planning on getting a used copy?
