Eh, I have a Rift and there are VR games I prefer over those. Interesting to see that to promo games are now VR though.

I'm afraid VR is going to end up like those eyeglass holders in the movie the "Jerk" with people getting some sort of visual issue a few years down the road .....

VR is the new 3D.  Who wants to wear a headset over 20 minutes?

I tried it once and it was interesting.

But, I felt it was too "gimmicky" and uncomfortable for me to spend 80 hours playing with like I did with Skyrim.

I rather upgrade to 4k than spend any money on VR.

    I bought a Asus 2K  3440 X 1440 100hz monitor last year.

Expensive as hell ..... yeah, but I would HIGHLY recommend ultra wide screen over 4K.

OMG !!     It is AMAZING !

If you ever get a chance to game on one for a bit, you'll know exactly what I mean.

It is more immersive.   And, at 2K with 100hz it looks awesome.    Then throw G-Sync on top and I think it is the best monitor available today.

    Acer sells a similar one.

Once you go "ultra wide" you'll never go back !

Yeah, it doesn't rhyme but it's true.

Here is a review of the monitor.
    http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_rog_swift_pg348q_curved_gsync_monitor_review,1.html

The only downside is that it NEEDS a top end GPU !!!

If you have anything less than a 1080, don't bother getting the monitor.

While I'm waiting for the 1080ti, I've been running a highly overclocked 1080 and Witcher 3 fully loaded with mods and ENB it couldn't get to 60 FPS.   Over 50, yes but not 60 or higher.

That's why it sounds like the 1080ti is the perfect card for this monitor.

$1200 ouch I figure eventually 4k will be the new 1080p. So 4k Monitors will become the new standard at some point and come down in price. I'll have to read and watch a few reviews of widescreens before making any decisions.

yeah..... I understand it is a lot of $$$

It was a VERY hard decision for me last year especially since I was using a PG279Q 165hz which was awesome.

I think there are some ultra-wide screens for less but I'm not sure if they have G-sync or not.

But, in general after gaming on ultra .........  I'd ALWAYS opt for ultrawide over high resolution.

The only issue is you go with ultrawide, download "flawless widescreen" if you play older games.   It does a great job with 3440 x 1440.

Next time you're upgrading your monitor check out all the ultra widescreen options before deciding.

LOLOLOLO NO!  My first VR experience is NOT going to be a horror movie/game.  Uh-uh, nope, no-way.  Probably scare me up a heart attack.

I'm probably making horrible choices in life, but I want both ultra wide and a free headset. Yeah... I also bought a 3D tv years ago, and it still works today. The ultrawides look so nice, and I am used to dual monitors at work, but for gaming at home I prefer a single panel. VR also looks fun, and I tried a demo at Best Buy, but I am really waiting to see how things like Fallout 4 VR turn out before diving head first into VR.

I could see VR really catching on but feel that the technology has to improve a little bit before I would jump on.  I don't know if it will be a console thing but I really see it being part of PC gaming.
