So this may be a 'duh' question, but in all past PSU's I've owned, they weren't like this.

So for the GPU - past PSU's 1 cable was a 6 Pin +2, so you'd need two cables for GPU's that had 6/6 or 6/8, etc.  With the G3 one cable has two connectors - so does that mean for 1 GPU I only need to use one cable when the GPU uses a 6pin/8pin?

Yep. You can still use multiple cables if you want.

Using two PSU cables would distribute the load better. You are better off having pure power rather than shared power.

Thanks, I think I'll be going this route just because of the video card that I have.  Still, I think it's a great little "feature" that you're able to do.  I don't use window cases because of the crap I need to fit on my desk I turn the PC around to the other side (and inverted board layout cases aren't exactly common) so while I do cable management for better airflow, it's not like I'll be seeing cables all over the place regardless.

jonnyguru.com was very critic about this shared 6+2 cable.

And, as XrayMan said up there, using two 6+2 cables, would distribute your load better (I would personally recommend this, always).

    Case: Asus Z370-G Box / MB: Asus Z370-G / CPU: Intel I7 8700K / Mem.: 16GB (2x8) 3000Mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 / GPU: GTX 1080TI FTW3 / A.I.O. W.C: EVGA CLC280 / PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750W
