I upgraded PSU after installing a 2nd video card. The power cord to the PSU was plugged in behind the desk.
This was the case with two computers. I did not put in the effort to change out the power cable.
Running BOINC CPU and GPU projects all out 100% load, I was getting random reboots. Driving me crazy. Code 41 in event viewer.
After one restart when I was on the system, I started checking cables to make sure everything was plugged in fully.
I found the power cord to be quite warm.

Any way, the old cords were 18AWG, the new PSU cables are 16AWG. Swapped out the power cords and no more reboots.
So I ordered several new Dell server 14AWG power cords off ebay.
Any PSU 750w and up is getting 14 AWG and lower will get 16AWG and any cord 18AWG is going in the garbage.

If your having random restarts under load check the PSU cable to the wall and make sure it is heavy enough for the  PSU wattage.

It's a good idea to replace the power cables when replacing the power supply because over time they can get kinked or worn from moving the case and such. At the very least you should be making sure that it's showing no signs of damage but at that point why not just switch it out anyway?

I went through all my Power Supplies today and removed any 16AWG and 18AWG Cords for 14AWG Power Cords.
So now all my Power Supplies are using 14AWG Power Cords and one 12AWG Cord.
16AWG are still good for Monitors.
