Anyone unhappy about that? I really didn't get into it much.

No surprise, you couldn't ever get one anyway. The only way it seems like you could get one is from an overpriced scalper on Amazon.

My guess is Nintendo wants people to buy the switch and pay a monthly fee to play the same classic games.  Why else would they discontinue a product that's flying off the shelves.

I really wanted one of those myself. Since it is not Nintendo building them, if the manufacturer had a set amount for manufacture, it may not be practical to scale up production.

This is what I've heard. Obviously it is a rumor at this point but nothing else makes sense.

Nintendo has been bad for consumers since the beginning. This is just another decision in a long list.

Thankfully Nintendo can't abuse the DMCA to remove our comments about their products, because if they could, they would.

Why Nintendo didn't just do a classic console that did NES, SNES, N64 and a classic simple cordless controller with every game is beyond me! Could of sold like hot cakes for $100...

I used to have a Nintendo 64 way back when in the late 80's early 90's and I kind of liked it. Never gave me any trouble. My favorite game was something like "Link: The Legend of Zelda" or similar.

N64 in the late 80's and early 90's?!  Are you living in a different dimension or just not awake yet?

As for the NES classic being discontinued so soon, I am kind of shocked but not totally surprised.  Rumor is that Nintendo is going to release a SNES classic version for the holiday season.  They are probably doing this to bait customers with the classic games so maybe they will buy the Switch and pay for the downloadable versions of those games.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Nintendo "re-releases" the NES classic from time to time.

I think they are just playing with supply to keep demand and profit margins high.

Just think....... next xmas they release it again on a limited basis ... how many do you think they'd sell ???

I was very disappointed in this news.  I've been trying to get one since the day they were released.  Heck, from the time I clicked on "Buy now with 1-click" in Amazon, it's been out of stock.  Scalpers are selling these things at $400 on ebay.  I don't support those "people".  I would love it if they did a re-release, but how much you want to bet that they plug the hole that allows modders to add extra games to it?
