I got a new monitor its 2560x1440p my old Monitor was 1920 x 1080p. I play CS:Go on a 4:3 stretch rez of 1280 x 1024 (makes player models bigger and im use to it, there is no changing this now ive been playing this way since like 2004)
The problem is when i do 1280x1024 on the new 1440 monitor the stretch is more drastic and gets very muddy. so i need a custom rez. My idea was find out what % the X,Y were of 1920x1080 and 1280x1024 its roughly 66.6% and 94.8 % so i applied that to 2560x1440 and got 1704.96x1365.12 i rounded it down and tried it. It basically solves my problem but im off a couple pixels due to my rounding. can someone who understands resolution do the math the right way and fine toon the rez to match the 1440p panel better?

Did you update the Monitor under Device Manager?
If not right click on it an Update it.
If it shows a generic monitor and you have ran DDU run it in Normal Mode and set the Driver Update back to the Default and restart your computer and update the Monitor under Device Manager.

    Did you try 1600 x 1200 yet?  Or better yet 1920 x 1440.
    both are still 4:3
