"This GTX 1080 Ti has a built-in LCD display. Embedded displays might be the next big thing that replaces (or at least supplements) RGB lighting. Case in point, Colorful, a Chinese manufacturer of graphics cards, just slapped an LCD along the side of its iGame GeForce GTX 1080 Ti. Don't be surprised if other manufacturers follow suit."

That is so cool. Having the display right on the card. Evga needs to think about doing that too.         ;)

Surprised EVGA didn't do it first lol. It's cool, giving clocks and possibly voltage. Not sure if I would care enough though. Could see them limiting it to the Classified card pointlessly though. Would need to go on the FTW as well.

If I'm spending $ on a small LCD display somewhere, I'd prefer having a display a little bit closer to where I sit at the monitor(s) and keyboard.  I know some prominently place their tower in the same area, which would is cool.  I'm running a setup with a small USB-connected LCD with the processor / Gfx clocks, temps, etc.  It sits right below my monitor, where I can quickly look down and see what's happening.  Similar to driving a car and glancing at engine temps & oil pressure.

T|n made a voltage monitoring module for K|ngp|n last year and it worked like a charm! I dont think it displayed clock speeds though.

I personally wouldnt have this unless it came off the cooler so I could use it with waterblocks.

Meh. The % of users that would even see this effectively enough to use it once their computer was in its normal place has to be small. The novelty would wear-off.

I could see those that bench using this, until LN2 hit it . Oh wait, they put on custom blocks so that reduces the number of users even further.

I see this as another weak point to have issues with. Imagine having to RMA over having a bad LCD or something. It is a neat feature, but the more you add the more that can be problematic. I also agree with Scarlet, it would need to be portable to a water cooled card.

I've always thought this would be a great idea if you can find the hardware and software to do it. Any chance you can post some pics and what hardware & software you're using? AIDA64 maybe? I'd love to try this.

This is what I'm running:  LCDSysinfo for GOverlay
       http://www.goverlay.com/content/lcdsysinfo/

I've had two of these now and one of the downsides is that the micro USB connector is just soldered to the PCB.  There's no other mechanical retention.  After plugging / unplugging a USB cable a few times, it tends to break the solder joints on the connector.  I managed to re-solder my second one, but it's only a matter of time until that fix stops working.  In the meantime, I taped the display and the USB cable down, to minimize any further movement.

Other than this one negative, I really like this accessory.

Thanks, been checking it out. I already have AIDA64 and found that it can send monitoring info to an external monitor, including some Samsung digital photo frames which is kinda neat. Now I'm trying to see if it will work using a years-old disconnected HTC Thunderbolt phone with Android App SpaceDesk or iDisplay via WiFi. :)

Pretty cool, reminds me of the EVGA Gauge that they had many years ago.  I'd personally like to see something like that being offered again from EVGA.

Semper Fidelis to all those before me, all those that were with me and all those still fighting the fight.

Wow thanks for sharing this. I've been wanting to write an application that displays all of my computer information but also has some added features that I would add. I have been looking for ways to do this but I didn't find anything. It seems this does pretty much exactly what I want to do. Looks like you can install open hardware monitor and then you can pull that information about temps etc from the Windows Management Instrumentation, seems so simple.

Yes.  I have open hardware monitor running and a pretty slick view for my PC's internals.  I think I spent an hour fiddling with how I wanted the info to appear on the screen.

I don't know, for the money I would buy a cheap android tablet as a system monitor. That way it can also be detached for other uses, but that may just be the utilitarian in me speaking.

Plus, you might not have to worry as much with the build quality(Ex: Amazon Fire, maybe) Love the idea though of this dedicated peripheral, and the price is still tempting.

Its a cool idea, but I can only imagine the RMAs and screen replacements Colorful is going to have to deal with.

Hmm.. just downloaded and unzipped LCDSysInfo for GOverlay, and Norton immediately quarantined rtss_hook.dll with a bad reputation level...  guess it doesn't matter, I'm not using Rivatuner anyway.

Hrmm.. and as soon as I run it, it tries to contact the goverlay server...

Yeah W10 isn't letting it happen. I can see the device in device manager, but no drivers. I manually searched for them in the installation folder and found them but got an error trying to install:

    LCDsysinfo for GOverlay
The third party INF does not contain digital signature information.
If you no the manufacturer of your device, you can visit and check the support section for drivers.

..well that is where it came from, so bah. Windows 10 does not give you the option to install anyway like previous Windows versions, and involves workarounds that then allow any and all drivers to install without digital signature in future.. I just want this one. Gah is there anything MS didn't screw up in this o/s? In a stupid attempt to make it more secure (I guess) they've forced you to make the o/s less secure. ......

    To disable signature checking:
    1. Launch an elevated CMD prompt (run as Admin)
    2. Type in:
      bcdedit /set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
      and press the ENTER key
    3. Type in:
      bcdedit /set testsigning on
      and press the ENTER key
    4. Try the install again

    ^ That didn't work.

Ok one other method does work, but it takes about 12 steps and 2 restarts instead of ONE CLICK previously on Windows 7 ..thanks MS, you pack of d|ckheads.

..Also it appears it is a one-off exception, it does not allow all drivers in future, so that's ok.

@OP I guess that's neat, if your setup and case makes it easy to see, but I really don't see the point given the monitoring options already out there.
