Some of the cards are still available for preorder. Yet the FTW3 is not. So does that mean that initial 4/17 shipment stock for the SC Black for instance is still available if I pre order now?

It says start shipping then so not sure if it means all orders ship that day or not. But at the 699$ price for the SC black it's not a bad deal since pre orders have a discount

True, just trying to manage my Step up options. If I can be guaranteed of a 4/17 ship date I might just sell my 1080 and purchase the SC straight up instead of going through with my step up for the FE.

I would gusse most will ship pretty close to that date if the option to pre order it is still up. You can always shoot support and email or support ticket and ask. But if your able to sell locally it will save you shipping both ways. So your hit of selling the 1080 may not be as bad.It may be out of stock soon though so don't wait for ever.
