From April 7th 12:00:00 UTC until April 22nd 12:00:00 UTC we will be having a 15 day challenge running the Prime Sierpinski Problem (LLR) Project.
Challenge over at PG  http://www.primegrid.com/forum_thread.php?id=7358
These are LLR so hyper thread should be off.
Looking for a prime you do not want Tasks waiting to be started. Store 0 days work and 0 days additional work under options - computer preferences.
CPUs with AVX - AVX2 will finish the quickest.
If overclocked watch your temps to make sure you stay in spec.

    In, but yes 2 week is a long time. Maybe one of the Weeks can be our April POTM.

    They did have 2 projects that were going to be two weeks long.
    I am glad they changed it and now there is only this one.
    Works for me to be Aprils POTM, if is ok with everyone else.

    April is already spoken for.
    April:  olddanit    Moo  24th to the 28th

    I guess like always crunch as much as you please. Crunch a few days,  it's better than none.
    Or just some cores for a while. No pressure.
    I'm not throwing everything at it this go round.

    PSP llr tasks take +/- a day to complete so that's the reason for the length of the challenge. I'll probably set the rigs to 50% for this and have a little headroom to do other projects. With HT off, it doesn't leave much but GPU projects for sure.

    Sadly I'm not able to run any of the new multi-core wu's. Results are being returned already. My hw is getting very long in the tooth.

    Sorry about the Ryzen that's disappointing.

    Scott Brown crunched under Duke U. Their hardware I imagine. If he brought their hw to Aggie the Pew it would be wrong in my opinion, but nothing for me to do, but decide to participate in PG team challenges or not.

    Yea, I need to test other BOINC CPU Tasks to see how well this CPU can do.
    I did turn off HT or whatever the name is called on an AMD CPU.

    My E5-2670's are showing 6+ days per WU.  My trusty i5-6500 takes a little over a day.

    Is that typical for E5-2670?  I have HT off.  Doesn't seem like an efficient use of resources and I'm tempted to switch it to something else...

    No let it run, every work unit counts.
    I have my dual 2670 running too.
    They take longer and you get more points.

    This is an app_config file if you want to try multiThread
    Change llrsob to the name of the tasks you want to do MT
    Change the number 4 to the number of CPUs you want to work on the task
    I have not tried it yet, will be testing today.
    If anyone else has been testing this post up and let us know how it is working.

    <app_config>
       <app>
          <name>llrSOB</name>
          <fraction_done_exact/>
        </app>
       <app_version>
           <app_name>llrSOB</app_name>
           <cmdline>-t 4</cmdline>
           <avg_ncpus>4</avg_ncpus>
           <max_ncpus>4</max_ncpus>

    I am at 28 to 35% at 18hr 50 min HT off, single core to 1 task
    Going to fire up another dual e5-2670 and see if I can get multitask in going. 16 cores to 1 task.
    I have no idea how well this will scale or where the sweet spot is.

    Even slower ,there are long tasks and give good points, EVERY task counts.
