I have found one more leak, and simply I am stuck on it.  Its with the two Magic Cubes, they just keep leaking pressure, meaning they are not water tight.  I took them apart a replaced the pump O-Ring only to have them do the same thing.  Really not sure what it could be at this point.

I know it maybe messy , but take the unit out and use some soapy water to possibly find the leak. Can you hear anything leaking? I hope this is the last issue for you, it really is a cool build.  I was looking at this thread, don't know if it may be similar.

Re: Primo II 2017/03/26 21:56:50 (permalink)
Thanks for the help and info, I actually gave up on the magic cubes, the issue I had before was with the lateral plates, now I was using an 8mm male to male fitting to bridge the two cubes together.  That fixed the initial leak, but not this one.  The link you sent is the same issue I had originally, too short of an O-Ring to make a proper seal.  I could not hear anything leaking unfortunately.  I took the cubes completely apart, changed all the fittings and O-Rings, only to have them leak.  Its been time consuming to say the least but after multiple test's the units just kept dropping in pressure.  I decided to return the original Laing DDC 3.25 pumps and magic cubes and buy the EK Dual DDC X-Top.  Its a more robust system, since its one unified piece of Acetal and not two being connected.  But as good news, all the other blocks checked out good with the Dr. Drop, so I just have to get the X-Top now.  Again thanks for the input and your help, I greatly appreciate it.

Here is the Aqua Computer Dr. Drop, definitely a loop saver :)  This is the most helpful tool I have owned in a long time.  I use a Bitspower D-Plug with the pressure gauge for easy mounting on components, along with extender fittings/tubing.

Also the EK X-TOP Dual DDC will show up next week, so hopefully I can get this system back on track.   The XTOP will have a 150ml res on top for liquid storage and any pressure build up.  Update: (XTOP Shows up tomorrow, I will put it together and pressure test it, if it checks out I will fill the system).

Thanks, though I did a larger revision overall.  I decided to drop the SBAY-RES since it would be too difficult to fill and posed a leak hazard over the Aquaero equipment , also it was literally impossible to access any of the cables of the Power Adjust and Aquaero when the Bay Res was installed, and I would not be able to pull out the top radiator if I needed to with the bay res installed.  The system now will be just one unified loop and feature just two DDC 3.2's.  I also dropped the Alphacool temperature senors because of their mediocre quality unfortunately, and the Bitspower Air Exhaust's since they are quite unnecessary.

Yeah, though I had a bad spill of coolant and it got over the front of the system, luckily there was no power, but it made me remove the Aquaero 6 Water Block since it is completely unnecessary, especially since I will never hit the 30w per channel (the unit already has a heat sink) and removed the top fill port, since basically my whole front setup got drenched.  This is going to set me back a week or two, but everything should workout in the end.

(Update)

Pulled all the panels off and let everything dry for 4 days, all the fans, the Aquaero 6 works, so I was pretty lucky, though having no power was probably the real saver
Also went out a bought a syringe with a 3mm diameter~ 47in non detachable tube to aid in draining the system if there any issue.

Thank you, hopefully I can get the parts soon and get this system going again so I can play some Shadow Warrior 2 lol. (Update) Parts will be showing up in 1-2 weeks, and I should be good, also installed the stop-plugs for the SLI terminal, almost forgot

(Update)

I swapped my 120 PE and 360 PE for 1x 480 PE radiator, I think this will be better than having two rads, plus this will simplify the loop even further and make maintenance and draining easier in the long run.  The 480 PE will be in Push/Pull with the same EK Vardar F4 2200 RPM 120mm's.

The parts have shipped finally  and I put some Fujipoly 11W/mK thermal pads on my power adjusts and Aquaero 6, also installed the time clock for the Aquaero.

Sorry its been such a long time but here is a photo of the system currently, still has a bit of work to go.  Just waiting on the 480PE and Dual DDC.  Hopefully this system will be done soon Managed to get the tubing to the lengths I wanted and hook up all the RAM blocks.

(Updated) Front page photos show current build.

Thank you very much.  I got the parts, but as usual it did not go to plan.  Pumps showed up without sleeving and the 480PE has metal debris in it meaning it has been used or poor manufacturing.  I tried flushing the rad with distilled water but only managed to get some of the debris out.  Looks like another week of RMA'ing, but it could be worse, just have to keep a positive outlook .  In the meantime Installed 4x EK-Extender G1/4 Socket - Nickel fittings on the 240 rads since the brass ones painted black easily scratch.   Just waiting on the replacement 480PE now so I can install the other two nickel extenders.

(Update)

Sent the Rad and pumps back, so hopefully the turnaround time will be next week.

(Update)

Got the pump, has a messed up thread and I cant even screw in the Link Upgrade properly because of that , been having really bad luck with EK parts recently, Rad shows up Friday.

Re: Primo II 2017/05/03 23:54:46 (permalink)
I have decided upon accessing the potential thermal load of this loop and that the 980ti's will produce an immense amount of heat that I need to make changes to the rads.  I will be using a 480 XE on top, a 240 XE on the bottom, and a 240 PE on the front.  I feel as though this radiator setup will work better then the current one and will be able to dissipate heat better.  Any opinions on this would be appreciated.

Upon accessing the space restrictions I have unfortunately, I will only be doing a 240 XE on the bottom, I cant fit the 480 XE up top, the fans in push and pull would come in contact with the ram blocks.  I also cant do a 60mm rad on the front because of the pump bracket, it simply gets in the way.  Though after talking to a friend they said I should be good in terms of cooling with the 1x 480 and 2x 240 setup.

Thank you, gonna still be some time since I am trying to figure out if I really have enough cooling surface area.  Cant wait to get this system rolling.  On the EK Configurator it recommended I should use 2x 480's and 1x 240, so I have been put off by that, and I am wondering if I have the sufficient cooling at this point. Any opinions on the rad setup?

After an assessment of the loop I should have good cooling power the final rad setup is Top 1x480 PE (Push/Pull), Bottom 1x 240 XE (Push/Pull), and Front 1x 240 SE (Push/Pull).  With a heat load of 930w this setup is estimated to cool around 1200+~w's.  Here are some pictures.

I also need to connect the 480 PE to the lower 240 front rad.

Thank you, same here.  I took all the fan grills off of all the Vardar's, should improve airflow and it looks a lot better now.  They where really unnecessary to begin with.

After some experimenting I would actually be able to use the 240 PE in the front with Push/Pull, all I would have to do is have the pump cables on the side with the inlet and outlet ports and there would be no spacing issue anymore.  This is good because I did not really want to use the SE 240, with its higher restriction and worse cooling performance

Yeah, I was brainstorming for a few days how I could get the PE in since it would greatly help with cooling over the SE.  Just waiting for my replacement top and I will post some pics of how its arranged.

Here is the ZMT tube from the 480 PE to the 240 PE in the front.  Waiting on the 240 XE, one more Vardar and the replacement Acetal Dual Top.  I also got my replacement Bitspower 6x (BP-MBWP-C90) push fittings, since the originals had the paint scratched off in ares and the Brass showing.  I wish they made nickel plated ones, not a big fan of painted fittings but these still work great.
