Trying to get the last few tasks in but it is supposed to get close to 90F today so I may have to shut down for a bit.

17.75 hours lest to go.
I will wait to 9 hours left then set PG to send no more work out.
Thinking 5th place is secure, "I hope" missing last few tasks will not matter.

Challenge: Mathematics Awareness Month
App: 8 (PSP-LLR)
(As of 2017-04-21 12:24:54 UTC)

47745 tasks have been sent out. [CPU/GPU/anonymous_platform: 47159 (99%) / 0 (0%) / 586 (1%)]

Of those tasks that have been sent out:

10758 (23%) came back with some kind of an error. [10711 (22%) / 0 (0%) / 47 (0%)]
28172 (59%) have returned a successful result. [27694 (58%) / 0 (0%) / 478 (1%)]
8815 (18%) are still in progress. [8754 (18%) / 0 (0%) / 61 (0%)]

Of the tasks that have been returned successfully:

5604 (20%) are pending validation. [5479 (19%) / 0 (0%) / 125 (0%)]
21986 (78%) have been successfully validated. [21636 (77%) / 0 (0%) / 350 (1%)]
278 (1%) were invalid. [277 (1%) / 0 (0%) / 1 (0%)]
304 (1%) are inconclusive. [302 (1%) / 0 (0%) / 2 (0%)]

The current leading edge (i.e., latest work unit for which work has actually been sent out to a host) is n=19089333. The leading edge was at n=13361366 at the beginning of the challenge. Since the challenge started, the leading edge has advanced 42.87% as much as it had prior to the challenge!

We've now surpassed the 80% completed mark in the double check. That was my "best-case" goal for this challenge, and we're not even done yet. That 80% statistic is counting completed (i.e., validated) workunits. If you count tasks instead, the number would be closer to 90%. There's 5958 workunits remaining in the double check, of which 5308 already have one result that's been returned. The DC is waiting for 6608 tasks to complete. Over 150 thousand tasks have been completed since we started the double check.

At the Conclusion of the Challenge

We would prefer users "moving on" to finish those tasks they have downloaded, if not then please ABORT the WU's (and then UPDATE the PrimeGrid project) instead of DETACHING, RESETTING, or PAUSING.

ABORTING WU's allows them to be recycled immediately; thus a much faster "clean up" to the end of a Challenge. DETACHING, RESETTING, and PAUSING WU's causes them to remain in limbo until they EXPIRE. Therefore, we must wait until WU's expire to send them out to be completed. Since these tasks have a 21 day deadline, this causes up to a three week delay in determining the final challenge standings. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thanks yodap,

I wish I had have got off the line at the start, not 3 days behind.
All my tasks seemed to finish at the right time, plus a bit of multicore adjustment to get tasks finished.

Was another Great Challenge.
Well done Everyone..

That was a tough one, especially with the other events overlapping.  Going to finish my backlog of tasks, seems BOINC manager expects tasks to be run together instead of multithread so my cache is wayyy to big.

We did good!! 5th place spot, thank you everybody.

I started late, and slowly over a couple days getting things running.
Then took us a while to figure out the multithread part. So many things going on at once.
Shut down a couple two or three systems a couple days early, just too warm in the house.
The next short CPU challenge, I'll try to be on the ball.

From PH challenge thread.

WE ARE DONE!
Final statistics:

Challenge: Mathematics Awareness Month
App: 8 (PSP-LLR)
(As of 2017-04-22 12:02:39 UTC)

49229 tasks have been sent out. [CPU/GPU/anonymous_platform: 48607 (99%) / 0 (0%) / 622 (1%)]

Of those tasks that have been sent out:

11599 (24%) came back with some kind of an error. [11538 (23%) / 0 (0%) / 61 (0%)]
30362 (62%) have returned a successful result. [29854 (61%) / 0 (0%) / 508 (1%)]
7264 (15%) are still in progress. [7211 (15%) / 0 (0%) / 53 (0%)]

Of the tasks that have been returned successfully:

5027 (17%) are pending validation. [4911 (16%) / 0 (0%) / 116 (0%)]
24711 (81%) have been successfully validated. [24321 (80%) / 0 (0%) / 390 (1%)]
338 (1%) were invalid. [337 (1%) / 0 (0%) / 1 (0%)]
286 (1%) are inconclusive. [285 (1%) / 0 (0%) / 1 (0%)]

The current leading edge (i.e., latest work unit for which work has actually been sent out to a host) is n=19108319. The leading edge was at n=13361366 at the beginning of the challenge. Since the challenge started, the leading edge has advanced 43.01% as much as it had prior to the challenge!

To say I'm pleased with this challenge would be a gross understatement. Although the explicit purpose for this challenge was to assist with the PSP double check, never did I imagine that we'd actually finish the double check during the challenge. But that's exactly what we did. We went all the way from n=13 million to n=17 million, completing the double check (or at least sending all the DC tasks out), and are now above n=19.1 million and back to checking regular PSP candidates. Wow! We're still waiting for a bunch of those double check tasks to complete, but like the challenge cleanup, they'll trickle in over time. The bulk of the work is done.

And speaking of cleanups, we now begin the cleanup phase of the challenge. With the long task deadlines, I expect the cleanup to take between 2 and 4 months.

Still Fun though, I am Going After Badges ATM with the latest one, I hope.

Primegrid credits users with completed tasks in challenges before they're verified.  If a task is invalid then the points are removed.  User boceli is around 65k points behind you in the individual standings.  He is hiding his computers so this is a guess, but perhaps he had enough invalid tasks to drop him from 10th to 11th, thereby pushing you up into 10th place?

Oh my that's close. Sounds about right to me.
Too bad I did not get a better start, and it was crazy weather, warm cool, warm, cool.
Did much better than I planned to, and where expected to be at the end.
Glad there are no more 15 day challenges this year.

Thank you very much.

I figured out what a PEW is, as in AggieThePew
A PEW is a mouse or a rat that has Pink Eyes and is White.
I have seen snakes that are PEW too, but yeah Aggie is a pet rat I guess.
