Hello all..I have noticed the past couple of days that my post beeps have changed slightly...

Normally I have hear 3 short beeps..slight pause..1 short beep..post..

Now, I am getting 3 short beeps..slight pause..1 long beep..post..the debug says 67 at that time, which according to the manual, something to do with the CPU..

I haven't noticed any difference in performance, other than the beep change

Any clue?

My X99 Classified beeps change when I hook in or remove any additional USB devices - mice, hubs, external DVD, etc.

After numerous exchanges with EVGA staff and my own investigation I can say this.

It's impossible to determine what is what. POST signaling has been merged with USB detection. Each device connected will generate some beep, basically there is nothing standardized. Technically up to 4-5 beeps is status OK.

Which is odd... considering competitors don't have this problem.

X99 chipset is notoriously slow to initialize. If you see no adverse effects of that long beep in every day work, then there is no problem.

What is your initial CPU Temp when booting is finished ?

I turned my beeps off in BIOS

I almost forgot - I was getting multiple long beeps at one point and my X99 Classified stopped getting past POST.

I hadn't changed anything, and it turned out that my CMOS battery was the culprit. Replaced it and it started booting fine.

I normally get maybe 4 or 5 quick beeps during boot.  If I forget to unplug my webcam (I usually leave unplugged when not in use), I get 1 long beep after the usual 4 or 5 short one's for whatever reason.  It doesn't stop anything from working properly though.

Frankly, I turn the post beeps off.  I've gotten so used to the single beep on boot that the 'chirping' beeps on boot...make my ears do a double take.

Same here.  Takes a bit of time to load up but its nice and quiet other than the pumps ramping up for a second in the beginning.

Code 63-67 which you get just indicate that PCH initialization part has begun. That's what for in AMI BIOS 'CPU DXE' is responsible for.

Frankly I'm all for POST signaling, but Classy is the exception - after few months I'd enough. It's nuts.

This is generally related to the RAM. I would do as bcavnaugh recommended. Also, I would reflash the BIOS as well as this can also be causing you some issues. Let us know if you get this resolved.
