Just curious if any others have been experiencing this?

Some of my onboard USB 2.0 slots on the rear panel of my X-79 Dark appear to be getting flaky over time.
A while back one started acting up that my mouse was plugged into - kept disconnecting and reconnecting. I tried reseating with no luck, ended up moving to another slot and it solved the problem for it.

Then this morning, same thing happened with my Logitech G19 keyboard. The USB 2 slot on rear panel it was hooked into started doing the same. It would disconnect, reconnect, again and again - finally it stayed disconnected. Double checked all connnections, no better. Moved it to a USB 2.0 slot on my case that is hooked to the front header of the MB, and all is well again.

I don't think it is a power issue, I have a Corsair 1000w power supply that seems to handle my system very well overall. Also I don't think it is a too many things running of one USB controller issue, as I don't have that much stuff plugged in. I recently got an Oculus Rift, but I added a powered PCIe add in card and run all of it's devices off of that card which is USB 3.

So just curious do any other's experience similar over time?
I will probably do a new system build maybe early in 2018, so hopefully my remaining slots will stay working properly until then...

Sorry to hear about your USB troubles.  I'm not seeing this on my Dark board.  At least not yet...

Just a side note - I ordered my Dark board as soon as it was available, so it's been in use since the beginning.

Yeah it is interesting, thanks for the feedback good to know yours is not doing it. I built this system in Dec 2013, and with this exception it has been rock solid ever since.

Oh well hopefully it will hang in there with the remaining ports until I do a new build - if not may just motivate me to do it a little sooner lol.

Not seeing any issues on my X79 Dark with Bluetooth but on my X79 Dark without Bluetooth I can no longer update the Chipset Drivers.
No USB issues and both still running Windows 7.
With this now out Microsoft now blocking Windows 7 /8.1 updates on Ryzen, Bristol Ridge, Kaby Lake systems
I may have to just go with another X99 Rig now, I guess it is time to end it with Microsoft and New Technologies.

Certainly good to see you are not having any USB 2 issues either, perhaps mine is a very rare thing.
Ah well PC's - gotta love em! Lol

I had an issue almost a year ago with a 2.0 slot just like the FTW days. Moved to another slot and it quit just like you said. I've done a lot of different overclocking styles with this board and I don't recall if I was at bclk of x100 or x125 at the time. I know the FTW didn't like anything but exactly x100 or x125. Even x101 would make the USB ports act stupid or just quit altogether. I'm currently running 100x46 and every 2.0 slot is occupied with no issues. I was running x47 but COD games started freezing.

That is me in the picture, anyone else ever pet a live Lion?

Well a little update - all appears to be fine now.

I have my rig set up in my garage. I also have the garage climate controlled, as my wife works from home and her home office is in the garage. Well when this happened, it was an unusually cold morning for us and we also happened to be having our water heater replaced with a new one at the time. So the garage door was open for about an hour, and it was around 38F outside.

So I got to thinking about that and this morning thought what the heck, now that temp back to normal will try it again - and it has been working fine all morning. I guess that particular motherboard USB 2.0 port did not like being cold lol.

Great to Hear. The X79 Dark MB with BT was one of the best MB from EVGA next to the X99 Classified one.

Agreed, certainly has been the best I have ever owned which is why I guess I am still running it. This thing has been solid as a rock since I built it in Dec 2013. This is probably the longest I have stayed with one particular motherboard model.

Thanks, good to be using the rear MB port again. Had it plugged in to the top front case header and was a little OCD about seeing that cable running to it LOL.
