Make sure your fan is running and your card is getting cooled.

Hello,

have you tried setting v-sync in game or a frame limit if the option is available?

just installed precision xoc a few days ago and put the fan on 100% speed when running minecraft ( that's about all I can do at the time, still a lot of reading needed to do the sync thing ) ...

HI there! ... need more reading to do the process correctly ... I will go through any info I can get on the subject.

although I must admit my pc fan has been acting funny .. sometimes it runs the whole time, and stays on even after a shutdown, and sometimes doesnt run as fast when needed. checked with antivirus/malware and my system appears to be free of virus.

Some people say Minecraft makes their GPU run hot, what temp is it getting up to in other games/benchmarks?..The maximum GPU temperature for a GT 520 GPU is 102C..Make sure your PC case has good ventilation, you could remove the side panel to see if it matters.

Since a fan cooled GT 520 has only a 2-wire fan, fan control will not be possible using software (EVGA Precision, MSI Afterburner, etc.)..Fan control is done by the card's BIOS.

As suggested above, see if there's a V-Sync setting you can enable in the Minecraft settings or turn it to On in the NVIDIA Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Vertical Sync setting in the Global Settings tab which applies to all games, or in the Program Settings tab which only applies to selected individual games.

You might try uninstalling the Graphics Driver and components using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode (instructional video at the download location)..Then installing the Graphics Driver again.

Just a few things here for now, replacing the TIM on the GPU chip may need to come later.

thanx! ... I wasn't aware of maximum temperature. 102C ... got it.
the  V-Sync setting is next on my list.

regarding CPU fan, I will flash the Bios to the lastest version and see how it behaves.

just so you know my computer is kinda oldie ...Lenovo 6234G89 model  core Duo E8400 3.00 Ghz
running Win7 64 bits.
