Thinking of buyng this cooler to but on my gfx card.
standard cooler is running 60% (too loud) to keep my card (core=2050mhz) under 75C.
Hopefuly the AC acellero could keep my card at 70C and quiter?

Has anyone tried attach this cooler to this specific card and what where your results?
I can see there is a lot of thermal pads provided to fit on the back.. Where do I find these hot places on the card so they can benefit the most?

Buy a Artic Hybrid-iii 140 cooler and you got it under 50° under load.
    My GTX 1080 runs @ 2101 Mhz with 46-49° :-)

well I have tried this cooler... It didnt do any good to my card.. My temps where about the same .
Did you place the radiator as a intake og exhaust?
I couldnt fit the VRM heatsink either.. :(
So now I am thiking this extreme IV instead.

The radiator is installed as intake (fresh air). The VRM heatsink fit good on a founders edition pcb. The VRAM cooled by VGA RAM heatsinks from the company "Watercool". It could be optimized by a Lian Li BS-07B PCI Slot-Cooler.

So you are blowning hot air from the radiator into your case?
My radiator became hot, so I didnt think it was a great idea.

I changed my GPU rad set up as intake also, my CPU has a rad so there isn't that much left to create heat inside the case. My rear exhaust fan has virtually cool air coming out of it...

Keeps the GPU as cool as possible.

My CPU is cooled by a Artic Freezer 240. The hot air are blow out by 2x 140 mm on the top and 1x 120 on the back side.
The 140 mm radiator get hot too (Iam happy that I buy the 140 not 120 mm version) but I have a airflow in my case.

It is better to blow the air from the top into the case and then outside to the front? o_O

I really need to find which areas I need to add cooling to. Both on the front and back of the card.
I can find the memory modules, so on the front I will apply small heatsinks and on the back thermal pads.
But what about other parts. VRM etc.. where are these ?

    Hello,

I used the Extreme Cooler on my AMD 7970 some years ago and it was great. It did a great job for sound and temps. I cannot imagine it not working on your 1080.

I have an evga gtx 1080 sc with an artic accelero xtreme IV and it goes really very very well, although I put little copper heatsinks too.

For example, in a game like The Witcher 3, from 68º-78º in ultra and 1440 to 55º or less with Accelero Xtreme IV

In a game like sniper elite 4 almost all the time about 50 grades, other games all the time about 40-45 grades, so, it´s really very fresh

    Ambient temperature about 26 º
Both of them with fans about 950 RMP

    Some photos:

Copper heatsinks in the vram and between vram and vrm with double side adhesive tape
Copper heatsinks in vrm, with Artic adshesive (A+B)

Although I am going to change the fans by two be quiet 120 mm model BL070, because they are better fans and because fans from AAX IV you can´t set the fans lower than 650 RPM, and I want about 0 RPM when I am not playing a game
