Now that we are talking T/A, my favorite year is the 1969 Firechicken [No T/A]. I had one with 400 ram air III heads and M21 4 speed. It was a rust bucket, but I had so much fun. Never had the funds to get the body looking cherry. The Grill/ bumper is my favorite look on that one versus 67-68, oh and the taillights. I wish they were producing a factory Firebird. There are companies that make a conversion Firebird. I would be in heaven in a 2010 up Camaro/Firebird myself. To each their own.

Oops. That was embarrassing...

The Old Boss 302 Beats Brand New Camaro GT4 in Pirelli World Challenge Season Opener Double header, both races

http://autoweek.com/article/other-racing-column/ford-ruins-camaro-gt4-debut-pirelli-world-challenge-gts-race-st-pete

Seriously? You do know neither you or I could buy one of these cars (unless you own secretly own a race team that you have never talked about) and they are not street legal cars? It's the first year and the first race for this style Camaro in the series and the car took the pole position and 2nd in the race against a seasoned Mustang, nothing to be embarrassed about on that. Two of the new Camaros in the top 7, where is the newer style S550 Mustang at? I would be embarrassed if I was a Mustang lover and had to cherry pick a story out like this in an attempt to make the Camaro look bad. Sorry didn't work.

The "old Boss 302" was grandfathered in, plus had several years of development data. I guess you better take em when you can get them.

Add to that, these cars are not street legal. That's why I showed the Xfinity race video, that's how much the win matters to street cars. From the dealer, the Camaro is killing the Mustang in performance.

Funny that's currently the only argument Mustang fans have. You do know a lot of those sales are rentals cars, even Motor Trend points that out.

Not in my book, so that's not an objective argument.

Definitely a matter of opinion Bill, Mustang is a loser between the two in my opinion on looks. And then throw in the important metrics....not looking good for you F.O.R.D boys.  Like I said before: to each their own.

At least I OWN a FORD mustang, not just talk about it. Talk is cheap.
I like them enough to buy one, and keep it for decades.
But like you say to each their own, bad taste and all.

Hey Kram, I guess I'm just going to talk about the Camaro ZL1, since this is the CAMARO ZL1 thread. It has a built in
line-lock in track mode, in the traction control system. It engages for 15 seconds unless the driver interacts. It doesn't work in reverse, darn.

@ Bill I don't think you have bad taste, it was a choice.

Who cares? Why are you peeps always so emotionally invested in your dumb cars as to which one is better? In the end, they all suck cause they cant do what a truck does.

I care?
It's all in good fun. The Ford Chevy thing has been going on far longer than you have been on this Earth.
As far as trucks go, as long as it is a Ford Lighting...

I have had my Cobra loaded to the top with ductwork and orther parts and tools I needed to get the job done.

Chevy should make the line lock feature available as an option to the SS models also.

There is no doubt the Mustang is a great performer. The ZL1 is an all around game changer. We are talking factory stock.  And I'm just a Camaro nut.
This is like the classic Ford Vs Chevy Battle I have with my Father-in-law. I enjoy it, my in-laws are great, love em' to death..... even though he's wrong.

I do agree the Line-lock should be available to the performance models as well. It may be on the SS, just seen the features in that article.

Kinda had the same issue going on when I grew up and before I bought my first Mustang. I was a Mustang fan, my older brothers where Camaro fans and my Dad worked for GM and retired from GM. So the first car I purchased was a 84 Mustang SVO, Dad was still working for GM and wouldn't even sit in it lol.

That Mustang SVO was the second biggest piece of junk I ever purchased, traded it for a 85 Camaro Z/28 (1st of 4 Camaros I've owned) and never looked at a Mustang again until I got married. Wife fell in love with a 95 Mustang GT convertible, so I bought it for her. Didn't even keep it 1 year, overheated all the time and had no go to it, she ended up hating it.

The biggest piece of junk was a 03 Mitsubishi Eclipse GTS convertible I bought for one of my daughters. Never had to replace so many parts on a car in my life. Even had the front right wheel knuckle break on it while she was driving 60 mph. When the knuckle broke the wheel bent under the car and dug into the highway throwing her car across the other lanes to her right side, (didn't hit anyone) then into grass. Luckily it had snowed and when she hit the shoulder area the car didn't dig into the ground and flip over, but the car did two 360° spins, went up an embankment and almost onto an on ramp to the highway. Good looking car, but a piece of junk. Here it is after I replaced the suspension, front bumper and put new wheels and tires on it.

Well of course these dumb debates have gone on before I was born. I would just think by now people would catch on that its ridiculous and a waste of time. Lets be honest its not like your going to sway the other opposing side that yours is better. I understand though its fun pissing the other side off a couple of times. But you peeps on the forums go through this every 6 months. It reminds me of xbox and ps4 guys, AR and AK guys, Mac and windows guys, Android and IOS guys ect... I am a mustang guy and own a Cobra as well. You drive a 90s Cobra while a drive a 03 Cobra and both are kick ass cars.  I even like the new Camaro Kram is posting about. I would prefer that over the new mustang at the moment because of the safety issue it has. One that is fixed I would rather have one then of course.

The people who needs a truck are people who needs to haul stuff around and throw big items in a bed. A hatchback will due for probably 70% of peoples needs. I my eyes hatches are some what a waste of extra money when you buy a new vehicle. Your really not getting that much space in actuality. Your paying for more height room instead of length and width.  But Americans like tucks because how roomy they are which will accommodate how fat they are.

Ha ha ha, that's funny. The Z/28 and SS were beast and handled pretty decent for those years. They could have sold like hot cakes if they had better looks, people didn't care and bought them for their performance. I would take an 4th Gen SS with T-Tops any day.
