I am interested.

Of course, I am limited in my choice because of market availability. For example no patriots available, a popular USB drive on newegg.

Are you talking about the usb thumb drives or SSD's?!! Cause they are two pretty different worlds. If its the usb drives youll probably find that many of them don't last more than a couple years especially the more you use them. The only drive I have left that still works is a old cruzer 2gb from years and years ago. All the bigger drives from the last 5 or 6 years have died on me and I just chucked them after destroying cause they are just too cheap to bother RMAing....unless you get a 128 or 256gb maybe.

I buy the ones in the buckets by the registers at MicroCenter. Haven't had any issues.

I've had very good luck with Lexar Jumpdrive and Samsung USB sticks in both USB 3.0 and 2.0.  Also had good luck with the cheaper Sandisk Cruzer Fit/Glide drives (all 2.0).  I've got a bunch of Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 drives at work that always give me hassle.  Sometimes they randomly go into read-only mode, or have extremely inconsistent performance.
