So I'm using EVGA PrecisionX and I seem be be having issues with the Fan that responds to the VRM "power" of the card.
So that fan seems to just run at full speed now almost no matter what I do it will run at full speed with automatic fans enabled If i try an aggressive or custom fan curve it will just run at 100% at idle it only responds to the silent fan curve or a percentage you set it to. Not so bad if I could create profiles to switch between to account for that with set percentage speeds but it seems I'm unable to make profiles. Any help or advice would be nice I'm running windows 10 pro and the newest version of that PercisionX program.

I noticed this playing on my GTX 1080 SC2 last night... I hit the button for "Enable automatic fan control" and the fans suddenly made so much noise, there is no way they could have only been running at 30 percent -up until then, no matter what games/benchmarks I was running, I hadn't been able to hear the fans, even though they were running. Both curves (for GPU fan and POWER fan) were at the default curves, and my system was at idle temps.

Thank you guys for the replies another bit of detail for the devs it was working fine this morning but I was sitting here and the Power fan was randomly ramping up to max and back down once i messed with the Fan speed update period it went to this status as I posted above. I shall await a patch otherwise pleased with the GPU dispite this little issue and the horrid LEDs everyone's raging about.

Will the asynchronously fans also work without precisionX or how does this work?

Yes, the asynchronous fans work without any software needed. Software only needed to configure the GPM LED's or fan speeds.

I always use the software to increase fan speeds...I never leave up to card bios.  Usually for GPU...30% fan speed at idle...then 50C-60%; 60C-70% and so on.  Always had nice cool GPU temps.  Not sure the Power/VRM will require that much...maybe even...50C-50%; 60C and so on.  Will have to play to see how it goes...

So very much not working here on 6.1.2, 1070 ftw2, loading any profile sets power fan to manual 0 rpm if it was on curve before.

Actually correction to that, it sets power fan rpm to 0 rpm no matter what when I load ANY profile at ANY time... it just really doesnt want to spin that fan.

uninstall it and downgrade to version 6.1.1 as it seems to be stable for me and wait to update until the next release to see if it's stable or not when ever EVGA picks to stop breaking things.

I dont have any corsair software or hardware btw,
Maybe I should start a new thread, my issue never has the power fan running full speed, actually unsets AUTO mode from power fan whenever you load a profile and sets to manual 0 rpm.  About to double check if the boot up profile works at at least, in that case it would just be manually loading a profile... brb.

Not sure what corsair hardware or software has anything to do with this.
As I've said in my last response to you

This thread was created with version 6.1.0 they fixed such issues in 6.1.1 you're using 6.1.2 as you stated that version is clearly bugged and broken again so if you want it working correctly downgrade to 6.1.1

(edit) Looking at the download from EVGA some nim rod over there didn't leave up version 6.1.1 So well...Guess you're stuck waiting for fix Might want to create a new thread as this one is marked as answered and probably isn't being looked at. Unless you can get someone to give you the installer for the old version I still have it around.

Nightmare2010, as youve said twice "uninstall it and downgrade to version 6.1.1 as it seems to be stable for me and wait to update until the next release to see if it's stable or not when ever corsair picks to stop breaking things."
"corsair picks to stop breaking things." what does corsair have to do with this, if corsair has nothing to do with this, thats why i said i have no corsair hardware and software, youre not making much sense nightmare2010, I thought you were mentioning the earlier issue in this thread that was considered linked to this thread, where it was said "after much fussing about and uninstalling and reinstalling, I narrowed my issue down to something between Precision XOC and Corsair Link..."

As it stands you have not mentioned what issue you are trying to fix by downgrading to 6.1.1, Nightmare2010,  clearly not mine or the one mentioned earlier, please start another thread identifying your issue.

That was a mistype then It was late when I put that up I mean EVGA picks to stop breaking things. Clearly my bad sorry about that. Attempting to help your issue as I am the one who started this thread. version 6.1.1 seems to work just fine after this thread was made. Seems that the new version is broken and they don't have a download link to that version any longer. If you'd like I can create a media fire download for you to get the 6.1.1 installer.

Ah I see, yea I forgot for a sec you were op, I thought your original issue got fixed in 6.1.1, so is it back the same way? thats the part I missed in this thread, are you still getting maxed out pwr fan at certain times?

Currently I dont seem to have an urgent issue as I think it boots fine and loads the profile on startup, I just cant manually click a profile and expect my power fan to be running still, Im reinstalling and double checking visually that boot profile does indeed load correctly and stick around reliably WITH a custom curve still working for power fan, brb.

I'm not certain about switching profiles but I've had one saved and have switched to it and I haven't seen any issues with 6.1.1 So you can give it a go if you'd like. Just don't upgrade to see if its fixed unless you keep this installer around. So yeah this thread was started with version 6.1.0 they fixed the issue in 6.1.1 and now I haven't updated to 6.1.2 in fear the broke it so apparently they did. Here's my 6.1.1 installer I uploaded it I'll have to PM you the link as they won't let me post it here....No Can't do that either as I need 4 more post.... -_-

So, You have no issues currently on 6.1.1, and have not tried 6.1.2? Sorry I have no reason to use 6.1.1 for your stated reasons.

Well I was trying to help you deal with the issue getting it fixed in the mean time while they work on another version so that's my reason. I have no need to try the newest version when the version I have is stable and works as it should. You want to deal with something broken in the mean time then have fun. You can stop updating old threads then and make a new one as I've said no one is really paying attention to this one as its pretty much been marked closed.

Sorry guy your help was a bit off target.  You have no reason to upgrade to the new version, I have no reason to upgrade to the old version, thank you for not asking me to anymore ;)

Also I repeatedly ask you for specific clarifications on what issues you have or dont have on each version and you dont answer, thats what really made it unhelpfull.

Sitting on an old version doesnt really seem to be doing anything to fix any current issues, so Im not sure why you state your intention is to fix the issue.

thread dead.
