I wanted to know if there was any ETA on the Z270 Stinger motherboards being in stock. I have alerts set up on the EVGA retail page, Amazon, and have been keeping an eye on the Newegg page (no notification option there).

The other Z270 boards have been released. If there's any info on the Stinger I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello KoolAidMan and welcome to the Forums!

Unfortunately we do not have any available ETA for the Z270 motherboards. The best thing to do is sign up for Auto-Notify from our website or participating vendors and you will be sent an email when more arrive in stock.

If you have a moment, please rate my service. We appreciate the feedback!

This implies that some were in stock at some point...I've had an auto-notify set up for the Stinger since before any of the 3 Z270 boards were available to purchase. While the 270 FTW and 270 Classified have come in and out of stock over the past 2 weeks, it appears that the Stinger has not been available for purchase *at all* so far. While you say you have no ETA, it would be nice to know if the expected availability is days, weeks, or months away, since it seems like this particular board has been delayed relative to the others.

I do apologize for the unintended implication. I have not kept a watch on the stock for the Z270 motherboards on our site so I do not know if this has yet been for sale direct from our website. Amazon and Newegg often have notifications for certain items as well so I recommend signing up for those if they are available.

Both Newegg and Amazon list the Stinger specifically (the topic of this thread) as being "out of stock and may or may not be restocked". Only Amazon even lets you sign up for notifications (as outlined in KoolAidMan's post).

This comes back to the original question, which is "what is up with the Stinger and why it was not available with the other Z270 boards 'in late January' as originally suggested by Jacob in this thread: While I get that you can't promise stock availability by any particular date, understanding why the Stinger was not available at the same time as it's two sibling Z270 boards would be really helpful.

I really like the choices made on the design of the Stinger, but I also have a box full of new parts waiting for a motherboard. With other Mini-ITX Z270 boards being available it is becoming harder to justify waiting for this specific board, especially as the other EVGA Z270 boards have available for purchase and the only response on why the Stinger wasn't made available at the same time is "sign up for auto-notifications" - which, again, the original poster said he had already done in his first post (and I have already done the same).

I would like to know as well. Signed up for notifications but if we could get a general idea of when this board will be up for sale (weeks?) then it would be good to know.

Ended up getting a different board because the return period on some parts was getting close and wanted to know if anything was DOA. I still want to order the Stinger but the situation is making it awfully hard.

I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm really curious too about the z270 stinger supply. It's my top choice for a z270 m-itx motherboard but the lack of availability is unfortunate!

Unfortuately, most of the "other" companys offering new Z270's have their mobos out and in stock.  EVGA seems to be way behind and will be last on getting theirs out and hopefully keeping them stocked to meet the buying demands adn any Step Ups.

I would also appreciate an actual update on the release date of the Stinger. I too am signed up for the auto notify feature on evga and amazon. Could we please get a more personalized response to this specific situation. Just a "hey look out for it this month" or something similar would really be helpful. I'm building my first pc and have always heard so many good things about evga. Heck I already bought my 1080 ftw hybrid that is just collecting dust in my office. I'm starting to feel discouraged and would really rather not go with another board. I've contemplated buying the z170 Stinger and possibly using the step up program. However, I'm not sure how I could update the bios to the beta (to support kaby lake) without a computer, since I sold everything to pay for this one!

Give the continued silence from EVGA I’m sharing this information as it’s the best I’m able to find. A friend sent me a link to a site called "shopBLT" which he found on Google Shopping (would post the link but the forum keeps removing it). Until last night, they were projecting stock for the Z270 stinger as arriving today (2/18/2017). Their new estimate of when they will receive stock is not until *April* (4/14/2017).
It has been about 3 weeks since the Classified and FTW models started being available for purchase, and other manufacturers already have several Mini-ITX variants on the market. Without EVGA speaking up on why the Stinger is still unavailable the conclusion I’m coming to is that there is some issue delaying release for an unknown amount of time. The continued silence on this is incredibly frustrating.

I too noticed this change in expected receiving date on BLT, that is actually what prompted me to make my previous post. My best guess is that there is in fact a delay due to the actual hardware. Something interesting to note is in the photos of the board. In some shots you see a USB 2.0 header on the board and in others there is not one. Watching CES coverage videos on the z270 line up show video of the board in person and the header is not there as well. However, if you read the user manual for the board it notes and shows (in some pictures again) the USB 2.0 header. I wonder if the inclusion of this (critical for aio cooler) piece is causing the delay. Perhaps they realized a little too late how high the demand for it would be.

That could be...and if the final product doesn't match what is advertised that would be a big problem (if it ever actually comes to market...).

Overall I'm just really disappointed by the silence. If I knew how long it will be until the Stinger is released, I could make a decision about whether or not I am willing to wait that long. Without more info, I guess I'll be buying a competitor's Mini ITX board some time this week.

It would be one thing if no release timeline had ever been given - but back in January, Jacob replied to questions about the Z270 line's availability stating they would come on the market in late January. Apparently it was foolish to expect this to apply to the entire product line. The response from EVGA earlier in this thread that obviously hadn't even read the original poster's comment (telling them to sign up for notifications when they said they had already done that) combined with the complete silence on the actual topic is burning a *lot* of the goodwill I had towards this company. That's not because of the delay (delays happen) but because the unwillingness to answer questions about *when* we would actually be able to purchase this product.

I've been a customer of EVGA for about 10 years now, and have recommended them to others as well based on their track record of customer service and quality. Why would I continue to recommend a company for excellent customer service when, after missing the originally suggested timeframe for release of a product, they refuse to even acknowledge that the product hasn't been released yet, much less provide an updated timeline?

Jacob responded to a request for an update via Twitter:

"The Stinger didn't meet its original target unfortunately, best I have right now is March/April. We are trying to get sooner"

Glad to finally get an update. With parts already on hand that I need to be able to check for DoA, I won't be waiting for the eventual release. Hopefully it works well for those of you waiting when it does arrive.

Well this is a bummer. I don't really want to wait until *maybe* march/april so I'll be moving on.

Hey just wanted to let those of you still holding out for the Stinger know that B&H now has an eta of 4-11-17. This lines up pretty close to what shopBLT has listed as well.

I just wish we could get more info from evga. Is it like the 1080, where there were production issues, or is there a problem with the board? Evga, anything is better that nothing right now for me. Even confirming the approximate date B&H or BLT have for arrivals.

    I second that.

    Dear EVGA Team,

Could you please update us? Even saying "6 weeks from now" on every Monday is better than saying nothing.

Unless the boat was hijacked by North Korean pirates or missed its exit, went through the Panama Canal, and got beamed up from the Bermuda Triangle, the lack of comment makes me concerned about the quality of the product and any last minute "redneck repairs" that may be in progress to get it out the door as soon as possible.

I was looking forward to this board, but I may have to go ASRock instead, as much as I really don't want to.

Personally, I dont mind waiting.  It just tells me they would rather hold out a few weeks and release a quality product that is bug-free, than put something out prematurely that will have issues.  :)

I have no problem waiting. it's the lack of information that I have a problem with. When I build a PC, I like to be able to plan out orders, so that I don't have to buy everything at once, but I still have time in the return windows in case something's wrong. All I want from EVGA is a confirmation about when this board is gonna come in. If it takes a while, whatever, at least I can plan around that. Its the lack of information that's a problem. The response of "sign up for auto notify" is not terribly helpful in that regard. One, I've already done that, and two, I can't plan around that. We do have an idea, but its from third party estimates, and evga hasn't said anything about if they're accurate or not.

Wow, still nothing on Z270 Stinger...the paint dried a long time ago.  I conclude EVGA is keeping private something that they do not want to make public.  I hope that ends up being worth it to EVGA, but I am concerned that the delay will have a cost. But for now I too am waiting...

Looks like it is almost here! BHPhotoVideo shows it to be available on May 1.

Also, I just received an email that I am now in part 2 of my step-up request. They just need to go over my invoice and then I'll be on my way to paying the price difference for the new motherboard.
