I'm considering stepping up my 1070 FTW to a 1080 Gaming ACX 3.0.
I bought my 1070 via Newegg during the black Friday sales. I paid $420 in total for the card.
Now... at the time it was giving away Watchdogs 2 with the card. I didn't want the game, but I didn't have a choice. Either way it was free so I figured why not.
I'm looking over my invoice and I noticed that it was billed $60 as Watchdogs 2 and $360 as the 1070 FTW.
Is only $360 going to be going towards my step up? Or is it going to be $420? The game was a "Free gift" so shouldn't I have been charged $420 and $0 for Watchdogs?

Also... I'll need to pay for the shipping from Nvidia to me for my step up card right? What how much is shipping?

Thank you

We would go off of the line item price of the GTX 1070 FTW as it shows on the invoice. We do not include shipping, taxes or additional items such as the Watchdogs 2 game. Usually for Newegg invoices it will show a credit for the $60 on the page.

I have pulled up your invoice and can confirm that the $59.99 was an instant credit and the total price shown at the bottom is $359.98. The line item total of $409.99 will be the amount we use for the Step Up!

That is an interesting situation -- maybe call Newegg and ask for the reason it was invoiced like that ? - if no credit on invoice - um - never mind EVGATech_JosephL answered while I was typing

Yes there is always a request for non-reference cards

However: Under Terms and Conditions http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

    • EVGA will only release reference versions of its products, NVIDIA reference spec and clock, to the Step-Up program.
    • Step-Up is limited to pre-approved graphics cards only and can only be used for exchange to a different and higher performing GPU.
    • Products known to have a limited availability will not be made available to the Step-Up program. (Limited availability determined by EVGA.)

I know, Policies are policies :(

Either way, I don't have anything against ya guys, EVGA is still one of the best companies out there with arguably the best Customer service. I don't know of any other brands that have a step up program...

I am also considering upgrading my 1070FTW to a 1080 with the same situation and concern as Wooohah. After finding and reading EVGATech_JosephL response to this question, I submitted my step-up request, but I was only approved for $350, not the $409 line item total on my invoice I paid for the card. Compared to the full price of a new 1080 whats paying 60 bucks extra for a free game you didn't want....anyway, I still have a few days to decide to purchase or not. Thought I would post my experience if anyone else had the same question after buying from Newegg.

New egg may have just screwed me, i got the evga 1080 sc2 icx and they had the free game thing but they do it on 2 different invoices so 1 invoice shows 59.99 and my evga card invoice shows 649.99 -59.99 for discount for autodd #182521 subtotal 590.00 then 2day 15.56 then 2.99 for rush total 608.55 They say they always do it this way and never had a problem with people not getting their full credit at the card price. Something about that how they are able to get you the game since its not a physical item. Told the supervisor she will hear from me if evga says sorry

in the case of 1080, evga was out of stock for too long.

i set up alerts at nowinstock and as soon as a evga 1080 popped up i grabbed one from newegg. this was 1 week after official release, i think back in june of last year.
