I upgraded to the evga x99 ftw k atx motherboard with bios 2.01 from an asrock x99m 3.1 killer matx.   I was using 64gb (4x16gb) sticks corsair vengeance ddr4 2400mhz with my 5820k.   I opted to get some higher memory ie corsair vengeance ddr4 3200mhz led (8x8gb sticks).   I booted up into the bios early this morning.   Defaulted to 2133mhz Ram speeds.  I selected xmp 1 profile.   Saved and rebooted.    The post code wen through its various codes then stuck on 95(pci bus request resources).    Sits there for a minute then reboots doing it over and over.   I cleared cmos, and went back into the bios.   Tried the same thing.   All resulted in the same thing.   So I figured I would update the bios.    Put it on a usb 2.0 drive and went into the bios.  Clicked update bios and it went through the procedure.  Then at the end it rebooted.    Post codes go thru the usual cycle then gets stuck on 95(pci bus request resources).   I cleared cmos........it did not help it would not clear.   Same cycle.    So I switched to secondary bios.   And went into windows.

I called evga tech support and he said while in windows switch to the corrupt bios and use windows flash method.   I did so.  Everything seemed ok with the flash.  Rebooted on corrupt or faulty bios and same loop.    I am at a loss as what to do now.  I have tried several times to flash in windows on the bios (a) and all seems fine.  But it never fully overwrites.   I am afraid to flash bios (b) because then I might brick the motherboard.

Here are my thoughts.   While 3200+ MHz speeds are supported I don't see any 64gb corsair supported ram only 16gb.  I have not used the dip switches to change anything.  That might help if I knew what it did.

Any help or guidance would greatly be appreciated.

I tried flashing the (b) bios to 2.02. It now does the same thing as the first bios. Post code 95.

I tried different ram. It acts like it's a bad bios file. Since it did the same thing to both bios

Could be a corrupted file download. Try redownloading it and flashing from Windows to one of the bad slots again.

That's what it acts like. Now I can't get into the bios or windows on either of them. I did a support ticket. More than likely will get a bios chip.

Re checked all cables. Made sure everything was seated. Found no problems. Error code still persists. I re download the bios several times on 2 different computers to make sure it was not a corrupt bios. Prior to me flashing the secondary bios. I am at a loss as to why the hangs on both bios's.

Unplugged power cable to see if leaving it over night to sit changes anything in a last ditch effort.

Is this a Fresh OS Install of Windows?
You have or have not updated the Bios and have you tried to update the Bios from inside the Bios?
I only update the Bios from within the Bios or from a USB Flash Drive Bootable with WinXP Dos.
You can also save your Bios Settings to a USB Drive.

Yes new install of win 10 pro 64 bit. I intiallly installed the bios in the bios with USB 2.0 drive on the primary. Then it powered off everything looked ok. Reboot. Then the post hang on code 95. Secondary bios was fine. 2.01. Evga tech on phone said boot into windows with secondary good bios then switch and reflash. Tried 6-7 times doing that. With several different downloads of the same bios. Making sure it didn't get corrupted.

Then I went into secondary and flashed to 2.02 and ended up hanging on reboot on code 95 again. So both are now hung. I suspected pci lanes dip switches to be a cause. When I booted on the good bios 2 leds were off which they should have been because they were not populated. I pulled the gpus out and manually switched the dip on pcie 2-3 to off. It didn't change anything. Both bios still hang and eventually power off. Only thing I have not done is pull my m.2 Samsung 950 out and gpus and try and boot. Not that I think it will help. I tried some other ram. Same thing.

Have you tried a different USB stick to flash it with?

If this doesn't work, I would most likely proceed with a RMA.

Can not get in the bios or windows to reflash. I used an 8gb USB 2.0 with fat32 while in the bios, when I flashed it. I hate using windows flash tool but used that later several times. No errors.

Also make sure you are using a USB 2.0 Port and NOT a USB 3.0 Port

Yep used the rear port with USB 2.0 drive. Tried another power supply. Ran 1 card. Each in different spots. No difference.

Support ticket and communication with evga we have determined bad flashes and bad bios chip. Put a request in to receive a new one. I live in New Mexico USA. I ordered a chip from the Netherlands off of eBay for $12.68. Just as a back up. Hopefully the evga one will arrive before it.

No updates. Waiting to hear from evga that the replacement bios chip is shipped. On a side note I picked up a CH341A USB chip programmer. As well as a soic8 sop8 adapter for it. In an effort to reflash the existing bios chip. It is a long shot but been down almost a week. With all the 1070 / 1080 pwm heating problems and people basically freaking out I fear my bios chip has been put on the back burner.

Trying everything I can besides just rma'ing the entire board. Which might be faster at this rate.

I am a bit irratated at evga. I have not heard anything from them about a replacement bios chip. It has been a week. They verified my shipping address last Saturday and so far nothing. I mean one of the reasons I picked an evga motherboard was customer service. So far I have not received anything. Very disappointed. Will give it until next Monday and just RMA the whole board with newegg

So you Opened a Support Ticket to Request a New Bios Chip through an RMA?
What is our Current RMA Status Showing? My Open RMAs
As you know EVGA is a little overwhelmed ATM, but you need to allow as little leeway or time that is.

Yes. Support ticket then into a request and no word. I'm trying to fix it myself if possible. Replied to the support ticket. No answer.

Not trying to bad mouth evga. But such a simple process as. Get address. Put chip in package and then mail it. Seems with all the graphics card problems other areas are lacking in support.

Just letting others know my experiences with getting a bios chip if they should ever have the same problem.

Never went to an RMA. Last Saturday someone replied to my support ticket and asked to verify my address and submitted a request to get one. Heard nothing since.

Hopefully I can reflash with the CH351A USB eeprom tool. My biggest fear is the chip isn't supported.

That is what I figured. I didn't want to call ever day and harass them. Just feel left out. Any communication would be nice.

If it did not go to an RMA then you are not going to get a chip. My Open RMAs show none then you need to request the RMA and use the Support Ticket Number.

Thanks. This is the last I heard from evga on Saturday.

Thank you for confirming your shipping address. I have entered a request to have the BIOS chip sent to you. Here is your ticket/case number with the request. 2439690
If you have further questions or issues, feel free to contact us anytime.

    Regards,
    EVGA

The number they provided was different than the original support ticket. My open RMA says nothing. Will start an RMA and see what happens.

I am having this exact same issue after moving out of 2.01 to 2.03. Everything works in 2.01 but my M.2 SM951 has slow writes almost as slow as a 7200 RPM HDD. So I wanted to first update my bios and drives. So I updated the bios to 2.03 and now my system hangs at code 95 and shortly powers off later. Flipped to the secondary bios and running off of that now. Did a new bios chip fix your issue? Going to call tech-support later to see if they can shine any light once I get a chance.
