Yes, but I have heard of some cpu's like the 1650 v2 working despite not being on the compatibility list. I haven't heard if the 1650 v1 works or not and was asking if somebody has tried the 1650 v1 before.

Unless someone post that they have one of the CPU you are asking about and have tested and it works you will have to test for your self to see if they work.
What memory are you going with, is your X79 Dark MB with or without Bluetooth?

I can confirm that the 1650 V2 works just fine (and OCs like a beast via unlocked multiplier) in the X79 Dark with BIOS 2.13. I would guess that the 1650 V1 would as well.

Has anybody tested the 1680 v2 and the 2670 in the x79 dark also?

I've heard mixed reports on the 2670 V1 working on the X79 Dark. Some folks it worked, others it did not. So, I'd call that a "better stay away from it."

http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-EVGA/X79_Dark.html doesn't list the 1680V2 either (or my 1650V2), but it might work. You might want to call up EVGA support and check with them to see if they have any data that isn't listed in the CPU compatibility list (which, in the case of the X99, isn't up-to-date at all).

e5 2670 works fine in mine just cant do ovrclck  and only issue ive had is winders wont do a rating apparent problem with not having ecc mem as board wont recognize such and cpu needs it somehow  i use non ecc corsair winders runs as good as it is going to i reckon  NOW mint screams and gimp is greatly improved on performance under all linux distros i use  so i pretty much gave up on ms products  vm in linux gives you a whole new world  arch and mint uses all those cores and mem to give you best performance out of it  i also use the next step down e5 2 less cores and only 2.0 ghz and it is more windows freindly   the plauge on most gamer boards is the inability to us ecc memory
