Hey Guys,

Cleared off the dust on my E759 and got it going with a Plextor AIC M8Pey NVME drive! If you want to do the same your going to have to cheat a little and use Tianocore's Duet installed on a USB with an NVMEdriver loaded from that and then load the windows bootloader. I got it working and the speeds arent bad for x58. Sequential reads at 770 mb/sec. Only thing I havent been able to figure out is how to get a UEFI Sata Raid driver loaded from within Tianocore's Shell. If anyone can figure that out it would be worth the hassel of booting from usb. Going to get an internal motherboard usb header adapter and use that. See how it goes.

Thanks
PS: Check out AudioCricket's guide (search for it) on how to do what I mentioned.

So am guessing we're not going to get it?
That's disappointing considering the premium price on the 4-way SLI classified.

nope, as stated before there is not enough room on the bios chip for a ufie bios.

Reports of an NVMe Samsung SSD 950 working as a boot drive on a p6tdeluxe without UEFI bios

Mods, all we want is NVMe boot drive support

I may be mistaken, but I believe they are using a standard drive interface to load the bootloader, then loading the OS or the NVMe drive. So, the system isn't technically booting from the NVMe drive....ah here it is...

But the end result is that an NVMe drive can be used as the OS drive, right?

The end result isn't native support. The end result is using a hack to redirect the boot process. The desire as a boot drive from NVMe isn't there. But yes, you can get it to work as an OS drive.

Actually with the 950 pro, it is native, and can be booted from without a seperate bootloader like Clover. It has a legacy mode that allows bios systems to see it as an AHCI drive naitively. The 951 (OEM version of 950) also has an AHCI-only version that does the same thing, but there are also UEFI-only versions of the 951, so you have to make sure you get the right one.

Thanks a ton for this! Works really great. I get about 1.8GB/s reads and 1.6GB/s writes with a 1TB 960 evo. Definitely revitalizing for such an old build. I don't mind it not being native if the benefit is being able to use NVMe SSDs at all.
