What you think about one of these two Keyboards for me. My G510 is old and I should replace with something classic, simple and durable.

1. Cherry MX Board 6.0 Cherry MX Red
http://www.cherry.de/cid/...ttr=en&switch=true

2. Deck Hassium Pro White Backlight, Cherry MX Red, Double Shoot PBT
http://www.deckkeyboards.com/product/hassium-pro-108-key

Cherry MX Board 6.0 cost arround 150 euro in Germany and I would pay around 170-175 euro.
Deck Hassium Pro was little harder to find because very small number of shops in USA sell and I need US Layout and she will cost me 210$ with shipping and all other costs...
Decision is very hard Deck is nicer black and white led, Cherry is aluminum but printed ABS keys.
Cherry MX is more expensive but that doesn't mean nothing.
What you think?

Yes Ducky have 1-2 very interesting models, Zero and Shine. But that's Taiwain product with many different options and such things could die easy.
Deck is completely made in USA and today is very hard to find such products and if sometimes you have chance for that why not.
For Cherry MX Board 6.0 I'm not sure where is produced but she look most durable of all. No option for changing LED, full analog, aluminum body...
She can be used 10 years. Same as keyboards from 1980th they are same and today. When you see keyboard with 10 options for LED and RGB she could have durable switches but what is something other die.

I have the G710+ and couldn't be happier. Pretty solid keyboard and very affordable. It also comes with the o-rings pre-installed so your mechanical keyboard isn't loud as hell when you are typing.

I don't know how much experience you have with the cherry MX boards and the different types, but a few stores have them on display so you can try them out. I know my local bestbuy has them out... I'm also lucky enough to have a Microcenter, and they have every color on a board that you can try out.

I like keyboards with a display, like my G15. If I need to upgrade, I want a display again. Maybe I'm spoiled with it. IDK.   LOL.     =)

If someone have information or knowledge more about keyboard I would like to know Vortex PBT + POM Translucent Doubleshot Keycaps is it compatible with Cherry MX Board 6.0. There are white and black version. They are made from finest materials and made for Cherry MX keys and keyboards with backlights.

    These keys only black
    https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1008

Simply because Cherry MX Board 6.0 aluminum full analog keyboard have ABS printed keycaps and I afraid that will not look good after some time.
That's cheapest version. And I don't understand compatibility between keycaps and keyboards because some keyboards have different shape tasters.
Some people install them even on CORSAIR K70. And it's excellent if you buy Cherry MX Board 6.0 and you know if something happen with keys you replace them with highest quality.

    Amazon has a couple options.

    http://www.amazon.com/Cherry-Rubber-O-Ring-Switch-Dampeners/dp/B00AZQ3966
     (0.2mm)
    http://www.amazon.com/Cherry-Rubber-O-Ring-Switch-Dampeners/dp/B00AZQ2OF8
    (0.4mm)

Probably just go with the 0.2mm if you're happy with the key push distance and just want noise reduction.

I still didn't decide, daily 1-2h I look and think for keyboard.
I found who will bring me Deck from USA and I could afford, but if one LED die I will need to solder other LED.
I found CM QuickFire Rapid-I for nice price, I can buy two for one Deck keyboard but Rapid-I have huge number of people who complain on dying LED. That's something insane how much people complain on that.

What owners of CM mechanical keyboards think for QuickFire TK, QuickFire Ultimate...
I mean on quality compare to some better famous keyboards as Filco, Deck, WASD, because RGB light mean nothing for me but LED in one color is necessary.

With Deck is only that problem if something die, nothing else.
Except that really for me Hassium Pro and Francium Pro are nicest.

I must decide fast. I never think so much for some peace of hardware in past as for damn keyboard.

I choose Deck keyboard and next week I will order from Mechanical keyboards.
Their design is closest to me and no chance to show something nice to regret because Deck keyboard.
All other styles become monotonous after some time except these classic/normal and professional style.
Only I didn't choose between Francium Pro and Hassium Pro.
Hassium Pro is excellent for now and next few years but Francium Pro could be used and for many years...
Because I love my hardware and I connect with them and after some time I love him even more and once day who knows except desktop PC maybe I need and cheap laptop for something and in that case Francium Pro is better for transport.
I can't afford to change every 1-2 year keyboard and because of that I need to think careful...
I'm really glad because I didn't bought some keyboard before I saw Deck.
I carefully read specifications and video clips, ask owners over net,...
I will ask mechanicalkeyboards only for version because I like with these fonts as on pictures below...
Big CTRL-WIN-ALT... not small and not D font instead WIN

I wait and recommend for 0-Rings model or not from guy on Youtube.
And I will use plastic key puller, he explain it's better and easier to remove.

I forgot to tell what I decide. I bought keyboard before few weeks.
I chose Deck over K70 only because popularity of TKL keyboards I changed decision in last moment and I bought DECK FRANCIUM PRO instead Hassium Pro. I never used Macro keys. It's good because I tried CORSAIR K70 and I knew what to expect but for me this keyboard is better. I recognized that and from many video clips and I knew what to expect. I bought from Mechanical Keyboards, buy because I live in Europe I payed to some company to bring me and keyboard cost me 200$. Example on Performance PC is 167$ and on Mechanical keyboard is 137$. My version is White Backlight, Cherry Brown, US Layout.
Some Asian countries import Deck Keyboard but if guys want DS PBT they need to pay attention on US Layout.

    Why TKL?
Because I use keyboards several years and who knows what will happen, maybe I will have smaller PC, laptop,
who knows and with TKL I can do everything same as with big keyboard. Now is popular big monitor and small keyboards.

Re: New Keyboard For Me 2016/04/18 03:21:41 (permalink)
I'm so happy with my first mechanical Keyboard Francium Pro.
After 2-3 months of use I can say that LED lights are not necessary on good keyboards at all.
I use some light effects, mostly shine button when I press and that turn off or other effects, but almost never normal LED on all buttons.
PBT keycaps are great and give specific sound, not so silent as ABS.

Example CORSAIR K70 Cherry MX Red

    Francium Pro Cherry MX Red

But Cherry Brown are best for me
    K70

    Hassium/Francium Pro

mechanicalkeyboards will check for few weeks is it Vortex aluminum case compatible with Francium Pro.
If yes, that would be amazing improvement. Whole board will be installed in thick aluminum case.
For people who love such things I recommend Filco TKL with replaced PBT keycaps and aluminium case in silver, grey or black color.

One new thing is improved feets on Hassium Pro and Francium Pro, I thought they change only on Hassium Pro until my keyboard arrive. Now I think Deck keyboards have best feets on market. Before they didn't had rubber. Now customers could use smaller or bigger feet and change angle of keyboard. Default without feet and two different angles with smaller and bigger feet on both is rubber. With them keyboards no way to move keyboard accidentally.

This is previous version and I'm not sure maybe ABS models still have like that...

Last I don't know... 6-7 months maybe and year arrive with different...

This is very important to me because I always hold on smaller feet, that's right angle for me.
It's not so expensive keyboard for people in USA, 134$. Less than new Logitech mouse.

I have a Leopold Tenkeyless keyboard. I like it because it is a small and minimallistic mechanical keyboard. It gives me less wrist strain than the conventional mushy key keyboard I used before it. I have a small desk and needed a small keyboard without all the extra keys and macros. Backlighting isn't a thing I wanted or needed either.

Filco keyboards are nice. Special because they are spare parts and different tools, double shoot keycaps, cable for them designed, aluminum case and braided replacement cable, stabilizers, keycaps in different colors, key lockers, cable ties, etc...
But need more investment if someone want better keycaps.
Because of that I choose Francium Pro not Majestouch 2 TKL.
You are right I now see that I almost never use backlight.
Even keyboards look nicer without backlight.

Yesterday I cleaned my Deck Francium Pro.
Jesus what I found inside. Best way for cleaning mechanical keyboards is definitely to put alcohol on brush.
You can use same brush as cleaning dust from motherboards or similar things. After that little with cotton and alcohol if need and she is like now. Keys I put in hot water with liquid for washing dishes, after that I dry with towel and little on air and back on keyboard.
Now is like new. I recommended 3 months as period for detailed cleaning and removing keys and every week clean keys with wet microfiber cloth. Specific sound of Deck Francium Pro I didn't found on youtube on any of newer mechanical keyboards.
That's real sound of old white/yellow mechanical keyboards with PBT keycaps.
She is made to retired several PC configurations and still to work with all White LEDs.

CoolerMaster make now mechanical keyboards with PBT keycaps.
Without LED and without software they are very affordable, about 80-100$.
Some reviews say one of best typing experience of all mechanical keyboards.
They call them MasterKeys S and L, TKL and normal version.

But I can't bet that it's same experience as if you install DS PBT on Filco Majestouch 2 example or now Convertible 2.
Mechanical keyboard with Bluetooth signal and option to use USB if you want.
People say Filco is something special, unrepeatable.

After 2.5 years of every day use Deck Francium Pro keyboard is absolutely same as first day, all LEDs work, springs are same on every key.
    PBT keycaps are perfect, etc...

This is not keyboard for people who like LEDs and RGB but for people who are loved in old IBM and mechanical keyboards with first Black (1984) and Clear (1988) Cherry MX Brown (1994) switches...this is paradise. Confirmed as superior in typing to K70 and many other similar and most wanted models.
I'm sorry because I late to buy Deck Legend Frost with Cherry MX Clear. For me that's best non TKL keyboard.
I expect to keyboard stay same up to 5 years. Than professionals will replace springs with harder little, that will give me feeling closer to Chery MX Clear, because I only like Brown and Clear.
